Juuso Luokkanen moved all in for 4,200,000 in the cutoff as action folded to Angelo Marrone in the big blind, who peeked down at his cards and instantly put in a chip to signify a call.
Juuso Luokkanen: Q♣J♣
Angelo Marrone: A♠K♦
The K♠8♣9♥ flop gave Marrone top pair, while Luokkanen picked up a straight draw. The 5♣ turn was no help, while the 4♦ river sealed Luokkanen's elimination in eighth place as Marrone, who began the day with just four big blinds, moved up to 12,000,000.
Dennis Magro opened to 1,000,000 from the hijack and called off the 3,500,000 he had behind after Tobias Peters moved all in from the big blind.
Dennis Magro: 5♥5♦
Tobias Peters: K♠Q♥
The J♥10♥8♣ flop gave Peters outs to the straight, and the K♣ turn gave him the lead to leave the start of day chip leader drawing to two outs. The 3♠ completed the board and Magro exited the final table.
Alain Saka opened to 800,000 from the button and Ermanno Di Nicola defended his big blind.
Action checked through on the J♠9♥7♠ flop to the 9♦ turn. Di Nicola checked and Saka bet 700,000. Di Nicola then put in the raise to 1,800,000. Saka called.
With 5,800,000 in the pot, Di Nicola bet 3,000,000 on the 6♠ river and was quickly called.
Di Nicola had a full house with his 7♦7♣ to seal the pot while Saka had trip nines with Q♣9♠, which then went into the muck.
Gianluca Gallo raised to 800,000 in the hijack and Alain Saka called on the button, as did big blind Xhavit Berisha.
The flop came 8♥Q♠7♥ and Gallo continued for 725,000. Only Saka called to see the 5♥ turn.
Gallo then checked and Saka fired out 1,200,000. Gallo tanked for several minutes until calling as the 3♣ fell on the river.
Gallo checked again and Saka bet 3,000,000 this time. Gallo once more took a few minutes before sliding in a call holding A♠Q♣ for top pair. Saka, though, turned over A♥10♥ for the nut flush to win the massive pot.
Julien Loire moved all in from the cutoff, having the rest of the table covered, and Juuso Luokkanen called for 4,300,000 on the button.
Juuso Luokkanen: A♠10♣
Julien Loire: 9♣9♦
Luokkanen was flipping for his tournament life but didn't find any help on the 3♣7♥J♠ flop. The turn, though, brought the A♣ and Luokkanen pulled in front with a pair of aces.
The river was the 8♥ and Luokkanen survived to double up.
A few hands later, Luokkanen raised pre-flop, then called when Ermanno Di Nicola moved all in for 4,450,000 on the button.
Ermanno Di Nicola: A♥K♦
Juuso Luokkanen: K♠Q♣
Luokkanen found himself dominated as the board came 7♠9♦2♣3♥4♦, earing Di Nicola the double up.
Angelo Marrone moved all in for 2,525,000 in the cutoff and Alessandro Predaroli called on the button. "Aces," Predaroli joked with Loire, but Loire folded this time leaving Predaroli heads-up with Marrone.
Angelo Marrone: 8♣8♦
Alessandro Predaroli: 7♠7♣
Marrone showed a higher pocket pair as the board came A♣K♠J♦Q♣J♣, keeping his eights in front and earning him a double up.
Cristian David moved all in for 2,025,000 in the cutoff and Alessandro Predaroli called in the small blind. Julien Loire then reshoved in the big blind and Predaroli folded.
Cristian David: 8♦8♥
Julien Loire: A♥A♠
"Unbelievable," David said in disgust upon seeing Loire's aces. The flop came A♣6♣4♥ and Loire made top set to leave David drawing incredibly thin to avoid elimination.
The board ran out Q♥2♦ and David was eliminated in 11th place. Predaroli then told Loire he folded ace-ten, indicating Loire had hit the last ace in the deck.
Xhavit Berisha opened to 700,000 from under the gun. Stefan Fabian moved all in for 5,000,000 from the small blind. Samuel Stranak was forced all in from the big blind.
Samuel Stranak: Q♦5♠
Stefan Fabian: J♦J♣
Xhavit Berisha: K♦K♣
Berisha was the favorite to seal the double bust out, and that's exactly what happened as his kings remained best following the 7♣8♦2♦4♦A♠ runout.
