Day 1b of the NAPT Main Event in Las Vegas Kicks Off at 6 PM

NAPT Las Vegas
NAPT Las Vegas

After a 12-year hiatus, the PokerStars North American Poker Tour Las Vegas Main Event starts today at Resorts World Las Vegas with a $1,650 buy-in and a $1,500,000 guarantee. Day 1b begins at 6:00 p.m. local time. The first flight of the day is underway and has already attracted more than 100 runners with late registration still open.

As mentioned above, this historic event is returning to Las Vegas for the first time in 12 years. The return of the NAPT marks the comeback of a major PokerStars stop in the United States after years of EPT success across the pond. The last time this event ran was in 2011 and Vanessa Selbst claimed her second NAPT Main Event title. Who will put their mark on the return and earn the bragging rights this time around?

Players will start the tournament with 30,000 chips, and blinds will begin at 100/100/100. The tournament features 40-minute levels and the first day of the tournament will end after 14 levels are played. Registration will be closed at the end of Level 10.

This tournament allows for unlimited reentries and approximately the top 15% of the field will receive payouts. There are six starting flights, with two starting flights per day from November 6 - 8. Players who qualify will return for Day 2 on November 9. On November 10, Day 3 will begin and the tournament is scheduled to conclude with Day 4 on November 11, which will have live-streamed cards-up coverage.

Balilti Hangs In Despite Facing Aggression

Livello 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Daniel Balilti opened the button and got called in one spot by the small blind.

The 56J flop checked through to a Q turn putting two flush draws on board. It checked over to Balilti again who opted to go for a bet of 300. It was back on the small blind who only took a moment and then put in a check-raise to 1,100.

Balilti sat in the tank for a moment and then put in the call on their way to a J river. The small blind then slowed back down and checked. Balilti thought it over and then put in a final bet of 2,200.

Unfortunately, the small blind would not give him anymore action and folded. Balilti would later tell PokerNews that he got a very favorable river as he was holding AxJx.

"Pyzza" Cuts A Slice Out Early

Livello 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Action folded to Ryne "Pyzza" Teston who limped the small blind only to see the big blind come in for a raise to 300. Teston called to see the flop come 745.

Teston opted to lead with a bet of 500, quickly receiving a call from the big blind to bring the Q out on the turn.

Teston checked to the big blind this time, who counted out a bet of 600. Teston wasn't done with the hand, though, as he put in a check-raise to 2,000. The big blind wasted little time in calling to see the J fall on the river.

Teston decided to lead once again, this time for 6,000. The big blind paused briefly before putting in calling chips only to see Teston turn over the 63 having flopped the nuts.

The Q rolled off on the turn and Wantman checked again. The cutoff slowed down and checked behind on their way to an 8 river. The action checked through again and Wantman showed down Q10 for the win.

Balilti Wins at Showdown

Livello 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Daniel Balilti limped from under the gun only to see a player raise to 700 from the cutoff. Balilti made the call to see the flop come down K68.

Balilti checked over to the cutoff who continued with a bet of 700. Balilti made the call to see the A hit the turn.

Balilti checked again before calling another bet from the cutoff, this time for 1,200, before seeing the 6 fall on the river.

Action checked through to showdown and Balilti turn over the AQ which was good enough to get a muck from the cutoff as the dealer pushed the pot towards Balilti .

De La Cruz Puts in the Six-Bet but is Way Behind

Livello 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Antonio De La Cruz
Antonio De La Cruz

Antonio De La Cruz had just won a sizable blind versus blind pot and the next hand was on the button and raised to 500.

The small blind sat in the tank for a moment and then put in a three-bet to 2,100. It was back on De La Cruz who put in a warm four-bet to 7,000.

The small blind then fired in the five-bet to 15,000. Without thinking for more than a few seconds, De La Cruz six-bet jammed and got snap called.

The cards hit their backs and De La Cruz was in rough shape.

Small blind: AA
Antonio De La Cruz: 1010

De La Cruz needed a ton of help from the dealer and he came through with the 7610 flop. The 5 turn and J river did not improve the small blind and De La Cruz would earn a chip-leading pot and score the knockout.
