Who Will Win the 2023 WPT World Championship for $5,678,000?

WPT World Championship Final Table
WPT World Championship Final Table

Today marks the final day of the World Poker Tour (WPT) World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas. What started with 3,835 entrants is down to the final table of six, who will all battle it out in a live-streamed finale starting at 4 p.m. PT.

The player in the best spot to make a run at the $5,678,000 first-place prize is Andrew “Lucky Chewy” Lichtenberger, who starts with a big chip lead holding 148,200,000 (124 bb). While he has a WPT Alpha8 title on his poker résumé, Lichtenberger is looking to claim his first WPT Main Tour title.

However, it won't be easy as the 2023 WPT World Championship final table is one of the most stacked in history, and that's no exaggeration. Lichtenberger has $17,129,124 in live tournament earnings, while his other five competitors combine for $44,621,670 — Ben Heath ($19,933,643), Chris Moorman ($6,768,673), Artur Martirosian ($12,587,828), Dan Sepiol ($1,380,994), and Georgios Sotiropoulos ($3,950,532). All told, the final six players have a combined $61,750,794 in career earnings!

The remaining six players are guaranteed $1,207,000 in prize money and action will resume with 61 minutes remaining in Level 34 (600,000/1,200,000/1,200,000).

The seventh and final day of the tournament, which will be livestreamed, will take place at 4 p.m. local time on Thursday and play down to a winner. Cards-up coverage and commentary will be on a 30-minute security delay. Once again, PokerNews will publish a recap after play concludes for the day.
