We're seeing double.
David Baker and David Baker are both sitting at one of the tables near the rail. At the same table. Like that won't get confusing. We've taken to using the tag "Bakes" for the younger of the two Bakers, the one who won a bracelet in the $10,000 2-7 event last year. He also cashed in this event in 2010, taking home 15th-place money before Sam Farha eventually won the whole thing.
The other David Baker will be just plain, old David Baker, though there's nothing plain (or old) about him. Call him "ODB" if you will. The Original David Baker has more than $1.7 million in career earnings and four WSOP final tables to his credit. He also cashed in two $10,000 Championship events last year.
If your name is David Baker, you're a favorite to win this Omaha Hi-Lo event.

Shannon Shorr and Alessio Isaia just quartered each other in a three-way showdown a moment ago.

, and Isaia was leading the betting when we walked up to the turn. Shorr called, Humberto Brenes did too, and John Monnette made it four-handed to the 
river. Isaia bet one last time, and only Monnette ducked out.

Shorr and Isaia both had the nut low, and Brenes' baby two pair was good enough to give him the high half of the pot and work his way back to about 27,000 after some early splashing around.

A couple days ago, Francesco Barbaro took down the other Omaha Hi-Lo event, the $1,500-buyin Event #4. He's in our Championship field too, sitting with Jason Mercier at the farthest corner table. Mercier's bracelet came in Pot-Limit Omaha in 2008, so maybe he can learn a thing or two from Barbaro today.
