T.K. Miles Takes It Down With Trips

Livello 15 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

With the board reading {4-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, T.K. Miles bet 31,000 from the small blind. The pot already contained over 50,000 chips and his opponent in middle position had a very difficult decision on his hands.

After tanking for two minutes or so, his opponent made the call and Miles showed down the {A-Hearts}{4-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for trip fours. His opponent threw his cards into the muck and Miles continued his upward trend in one of the first hands after returning from dinner break.

A Nick Binger Story by Nick Binger

Nick Binger has had a pretty healthy stack through out the day and we were shocked to find him sitting with 2,500 when we all went for dinner break. He came over to us asking if we happened to catch why he was so low, we told him no, and he was nice enough to give us the story.

Apparently Binger raised from the cut off and made it 7,000 and when the action got back to Emil Patel in the Big Blind he made it 15,200, Binger called and both players were awarded a flop.

On a flop of {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}{4-Diamonds} Patel checked, and Binger fired out 12,300, Patel immediately bet pot and after a raise from Binger Patel was all in. Binger only had 2500 more than Patel, so both players were essentially at risk. Cards were flipped and Patel held {A-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-}{4-} for a naked flush draw, Binger as he says it held {J-Spades}{8-Spades}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for a set of tens and a straight flush draw.

The turn was a blank (Binger didn't inform us what the turn was), but the river was a {7-Spades}, giving Patel the flush and the pot.

Emil Patel: Straight Flush Extraordinaire

Livello 15 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

During the break we heard a few of the dealers engaged in a conversation that caught our attention. Apparently Emil Patel, the player who made a miraculous royal flush on the river to overcome Steve Wolfe's full house, has been making a habit of outdrawing his opponent's boats. According to the dealer who dealt both hands, Patel also scored a straight flush earlier in this Day 2 to crush another player's full house.

If Patel can weave his way through the remainder of this field and capture a gold bracelet, he may want to consider tipping this one-out delivering dealer a little extra.

Chow Time! Dinner Break Is Upon Us

Livello 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

The players have stood up and dispersed as we have reached our sixty-minute dinner break. The 100 denomination chips are being colored up and when play resumes the sprint to the final table will heat up.

Palmer Finds A Five On the River To Make A Wheel

Livello 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

After making a healthy raise before the flop, Benjamin Palmer heard an opponent in late position announce "Pot!" and was faced with a decision for his tournament life. He made that decision quickly and called with his {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. The aggresor in the hand told him "I have aces" and flipped up his {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{2-Spades}{6-Spades}. Palmer was not fazed and responded "I'm still in pretty good shape" as both players waited for the dealer to decide their fates.

Flop: {Q-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{3-Hearts}

The flop was safe for the player holding aces and for once it looked like pocket rockets would live up to their name in an Omaha hand. The turn came {8-Spades} and nothing had changed: Palmer would need to spike a king for a set or a five to complete a gutshot wheel straight draw.

River: {5-Clubs}

As is usually the case in the complex game of Omaha, the draw had gotten their and Palmer doubled his stack to just under 140,000.

Binger the Bully

It was a battle of the blinds as T.K. Miles called the small blind and Michael Binger checked in the big blind. The flop came {8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{K-Clubs} and it was Miles who bet out 3,500. Binger took his time before eventually calling. On the {5-Hearts} turn Miles slowed down and checked.

The action was on Binger and after about a minute or so he put out a bet of 11,800 to which Miles folded.

Dmitry Motorov Motoring To the Finish Line

Livello 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

We witnessed a three-way hand in which Joseph Felder and an unknown opponent were all-in before the flop against Dmitry Motorov. The unknown opponent proudly revealed his {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{7-Spades} for pocket aces, and while that is the best starting hand in Hold'em, it is not nearly as strong in the draw-heavy game Omaha.

Felder flipped up the {5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for a suited connector and a slew of low cards, while Motorov showed down his {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a similar hand that held plenty of preflop potential.

Flop: {6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

The unknown opponent had survied the flop with his pocket rockets and began hollering "Keep 'em high dealer, keep 'em high!" While the aces were still in the lead, Motorov had flopped a pair of sixes and a variety of draws. The Russian now needed to catch any deuce or seven to complete his straight, or any four, five, six, or ten to crack his opponent's aces.

The dealer delivered a dagger on the turn in the form of a {2-Clubs} and Motorov had made his straight. Felder had a slim chance now, needing a four to arrive on the river to chop the pot with Motorov. The man holding bullets was drawing dead at this point and turned to depart the Amazon Room.

River: {7-Clubs}

Motorov pumped his fist in triumph after notching the double knockout and he now holds a stack of nearly 160,000 chips.

Sarwer's Pot Bet Wins Him Pot

We found one of our big stacks Jeffrey Sarwer betting into his Big Blind opponent on a flop of {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{8-Spades}. His opponent called and both players were awarded a {A-Hearts} turn where the two of them checked.

On the {3-Hearts} river the Big Blind checked and the action was to Sarwer who took his time before announcing he would bet pot which was around 36,000. His opponent pump faked the fold a few times, not wanting to give it away, but in the end his cards made their way into the muck.
