Small Hit to Latimer's Fortress of Chips

A player in middle position moved all in for 20,500 and was called by Adam Latimer on the button. The blinds got out of the way and the cards were turned up.

Latimer: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

Latimer was in a tough spot with the inferior kicker, one that didn't improve as the board ran out {7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. While he lost the hand, Latimer is still sitting on one of the bigger stacks in the room.

Familiar Faces Could Face Off

Livello 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

We are almost down to 100 players, and there are only a handful of big names left. Two of them are at the same table, as Justin Young was just moved to Tim West's table. Young has struggled so far in this WSOP but has over $3 million in tournament winnings, including a final table at the WPT Championship last month. Tim West has already registered two cashes at this series for $22,000 a piece, and will be looking to beat that mark in this tournament.

Aces for Cartwright

Action folded to Kyle Cartwright in middle position and he put in a raise to 5,100. Action folded all the way around to the player in the big blind and he slide his entire stack forward, approximately 40,000 total. Cartwright snap-called and quickly flipped over his {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}.

The big blind was clearly dejected as he turned over {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. The {3-Spades}{J-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop made things interesting as it paired the big blind's jack; however, he still needed another to steal the pot. The {2-Spades} turn provided some chop outs, but the {8-Spades} fell harmlessly on the river. Cartwright clapped his hands together in celebration as the dealer pushed him the pot.

Whole Lotta Bustin' Goin' On

Livello 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Having started the day with 362 players, and a little more than four levels into the day, we're already down to 126 players remaining. If you're curious as to how many we may have left at the end of the day, here's some stats on the other two $1,500 No-Limit Hold Em events that have taken place at this year's series.

Event #18
Total Entrants: 3157
Players at Start of Day 2: 469
Players at the End of Day 2: 34

Event #28
Total Entrants: 2500
Players at Start of Day 2: 349
Players at the End of Day 2: 28

At the start of Day 2, Event #18 had 14.85% of its field remaining while Event #28 had a little less than 14% of it's field left. At start of play today, we had 12.8% of the starting field still battling it out.

After their respective Day 2s, Event #18 was left with 1.07% of its starting field and Event #28 was left with 1.12% of its starting field.

Assuming that today's event plays out similarly to the other two, we're guessing we'll be left with around 31 players at the end of play today.

Happy Birthday to Soi Nguyen

Livello 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

You may remember Soi Nguyen for his ninth-place finish in last year's Main Event. IF you recall, Nguyen was playing just his fourth tournament when he made it all the way to the November Nine. Nguyen is still in action here today, on his birthday nonetheless!

We're guessing one of the best gifts Nguyen received today is his second career WSOP cash!
