Scott Shelley Eliminated 22nd Place ($13,978)

Michael Souza raised to 30,000 in middle position and Mark Schmid called in the hijack. Scott Shelley re-raised all in for 230,000 in the cutoff and Souza made the call while Schmid folded.

Souza: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-}
Shelley: {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

The flop came {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Shelley who picked up a flush draw said “diamonds would be nice”. The turn was the {9-Clubs} which gave him outs to the king and nine as well and the table said “more outs”. The river blanked with the {5-Clubs} though and Shelley was eliminated while Souza took back the chip lead.

Randy Kritzer Eliminated in 21st Place ($13,978)

Randy Kritzer Eliminated in 21st Place

From early position, Daniel Sosa raised to 31,000 before Randy Kritzer went all in from the small blind. After the big blind got out of the way Sosa quickly made the call and the cards were placed on their backs.

Kritzer: {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Sosa: {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

The flop came {4-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} which provided the all in Kritzer with no relief. The turn was the {q-Clubs} and Kritzer would need to find an Ace or a Jack to stay alive. He bricked with the {10-Hearts} and exited the tournament in 21st Place.

Sosa, on the other hand, now has 600,000 chips.

Jonas Mackoff Eliminated in 20th Place ($13,978)

Jonas Mackoff
Jonas Mackoff

We caught up with the action on the {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} where Jonas Mackoff got it all in against Benjamin Volpe.

Mackoff: {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}
Volpe: {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

Mackoff flopped top two but Volpe held a straight so Mackoff would need a queen, jack or some form of runner-runner to survive and double up. The {2-Spades} on the turn was a brick for Mackoff and although the river paired the board, it was the wrong pair with the {9-Hearts} which sent Mackoff to the payout desk.

Davisson Welcomes Back Kottler

Jeremy Kottler raised to 38,000 on the button and Steven Davisson moved all in for 211,000 total from the small blind. Kottler made the call and the players turned up their hands.

Kottler: {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Davisson: {10d]{9-Diamonds}

It was off to the races but not for long as Kottler took a commanding lead with the {9-Spades}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop. The {4-Diamonds} on the turn changed nothing nor did the {7-Clubs} on the river as Davission doubled up.

Jake Flores Eliminated in 19th Place ($13,978)

Livello 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Action folded around to Mike Schmid in the small blind and he decided to raise to 40,000. Jake Flores looked down at his cards, thought a moment and moved all in for his remaining 226,000. Schmid thought for about a minute before making the call. His {a-Spades}{9-Clubs} was well ahead of the {a-Diamonds}{4-Spades} of Flores but the window card hit Flores hard. It was the {4-Hearts} and came with the {10-Clubs} and {8-Clubs}. The turn was the {5-Hearts} and Schmid needed one of the three Nines left in the deck.

The dealer slowly dealt the last card face down and dragged it to where the river card should go. After building the anticipation with a slow draw, he quickly flipped it up when it reached its final destination. Of course at that point it could only be the {9-Diamonds}. The table and rail all flinched a little for different reasons when it hit and in just over one level, we have eliminated nine players and have reached our final two tables.

Ravi Raghaven Eliminated in 18th Place ($17,486)

Livello 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Ravi Raghavan Eliminated in 18th Place
Ravi Raghavan Eliminated in 18th Place

From the cutoff, Ravi Raghaven moved all in for his last 211,000. Justin Cohen asked for a count and eventually made the call from the small blind. The big blind quickly mucked and the hands were revealed.

Raghaven: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Cohen: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}

"King-Queen! Good luck!" Cohen exclaimed. He seemed excited just to be in the moment. The positive attitude brought a positive flop. {k-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} peeled out and Cohen had his all-in opponent drawing to running Kings or running clubs. The turn was the {7-Hearts} and left Raghaven drawing dead. Cohen filled up with the {j-Hearts} on the meaningless river and stacked chips now amounting to 800,000.
