If you love action and highly-skilled players battling for every chip, you are in the right place. Just the first Event during the 2011 World Series to not make the money by Day 2, we should hit and pop that bubble in the early stages of today's tournament. With 38 players left, we are just two away from everyone getting at least a little slice of the nearly $3.4 million prize pool.
PokerStars Team Pro Humberto Brenes will be in the most trouble today. He starts as our short stack with 70,000. That will be enough for only be seven big blinds and he will likely be looking for a situation early that can start his rush back up to the top of the leaderboard. On the other end of the spectrum is Ben Lamb, who has amassed 809,000 chips. What is even more impressive is that this isn't Lamb's first deep run in an Omaha event this year. He finished just one spot away from the bracelet in Event #31, the $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha tournament. Sam Stein, who bested him in that heads up match, is also still alive in this tournament and sits with a healthy stack of 646,000.
The two friends have a long and talented list of players they will have to outlast though if they want to have a rematch of their battle last week. Among the players still vying for this bracelet are Sami Kelopuro (728,000), Will Failla (528,000), Matt Glantz (400,000), Dario Alioto (206,000) and Davidi Kitai (158,000).
The action starts back up at 3 p.m. local time. As always, stay tuned to PokerNews so you don't miss any of the action!

The cards are in the air for Event #42's Day 3.
John Kabbaj began this hand in the cutoff seat and raised to 26,000. Todd Barlow moved all in for 73,000 from the button and action folded back around to Kabbaj. He called and the cards were on their backs. Kabbaj held the and the at-risk Barlow held the .
The flop nailed both players with sets, but Barlow's was a little bit better as it came down . The turn brought the and the river the . Barlow went on to make Broadway and earned the double up.

Will "The Thrill" Failla has wasted little time in building his chip stack here on Day 3. After Mike McDonald raised to 20,000 from middle position, Failla called from the cutoff seat and the two players saw the flop come down . McDonald bet 36,000 and Failla made the call.
The turn was the , which brought in some straight draws. McDonald checked and Failla fired the pot for 127,000. McDonald tanked and then made the call.
The paired the board on the river and both players checked their option. Failla showed the for a king-high straight and won the hand. McDonald mucked.

Will "The Thrill" Failla wasted little time in going after more chips. Action folded to him in the hijack seat and he raised to 20,000. From the cutoff seat, Benjamin Kaupp made the call and then Cory Wood called from the big blind. The flop came down and Wood checked. Failla bet 40,000 and Kaupp called. Wood folded.
The turn was the to pair the board and Failla fired 75,000. Kaupp gave it up and Failla won the pot. That's now two in a row for The Thrill.

Jesus Cortes found his final 214,000 in the middle preflop against Tristan Clemencon. Cortes held against the of Clemencon.
While the did not directly improve either hand, Clemencon now had a flush draw and still had four outs to make a set. Cortes also flopped an up and down straight draw.
The turn was a dagger to Cortes when it landed the and he now needed a non-spade Ace, Seven or Deuce. And as a lesson to us all, and especially Clemencon, the Poker God's can giveth just as easily as they can taketh away. The river brought Cortes back into the lead just like that the 530,000 pot was shipped his way.
