Haxton Heads Out Early

Livello 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

We caught up with the action on a {6-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop. A player in early position led out and was called by the player in the hi-jack. Isaac Haxton squeezed from the cutoff all-in for a little over 3,000. The original bettor called and the hi-jack folded.

Haxton: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

"Was I at least second?" Haxton asked his opponent in the hi-jack.

"Yeah, you were second," she replied.

The {J-Hearts} turn and {J-Spades} river were no help to Haxton and he was sent to the rail.

The Field Keeps Growing

Livello 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

The number of entrants listed on the board reads 2,327. That number is still climbing and we predict we may reach the 3,000 mark by the time registration closes.

More Faces

Livello 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

Another tour around the tables has produced Shane Schleger, Jennifer Tilly, Todd Witteles, Maria Ho, Neil Channing and Adam Levy.

A couple of 2011 WSOP bracelet winners are also here. Matthew Jarvis took down Event #40, $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Six Handed only a few days ago while Mark Schmid already conquered a massive field when he won Event #34, $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em last week.

Finally, Chris Bjorin, fresh off a sixth place finish last night in Event #44, $2,500 Razz is playing today as well.

The March to Buzio's

Livello 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

We just trekked up to the section of tables locates across from Buzio's and they were packed. Players were spread across all 14 available tables. We spotted November Niner Soi Nguyen among the group. Those tables are usually the first to break and we'll let you know when all of them have broken.

Over in the Amazon Room...

Livello 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

After scouring the mostly half-filled tables of the black, yellow and white sections of Amazon room in the first ten minutes or so, we've seen a few famliar faces. Bernard Lee, Ray Henson, Adam Junglen, Humberto Brenes, Olivier Busquet, Faraz Jaka, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Isaac Haxton, Kathly Liebert and Shannon Shorr are all in today's field.

Let's Get This Party Started

Livello 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

We have a giant starting field today. Players are spread across the entire Pavilion Room, the Tan, Orange and Purple sections of the Amazon Room and even the Buzio's pit has players seated. We've spotted Bryan Devonshire, Andy Black, Todd Terry, Simon Watt and Jeff Madsen in the Amazon Room.

It’s Time for Another $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Event

Ladies and gentleman, welcome to Day 1 of Event #48, $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em, the sixth of seven events of this exact variety at this summer’s WSOP. In this event last year, Michael Linn worked his way through a field of 2,543 entrants to capture $609,493 and the gold bracelet.

The previous event like this, Event #43 hasn’t actually even finished yet as it has carried over to a fourth day that will resume at 3 p.m. today. Nachman Berlin holds nearly a 3-1 lead over Andre Akkari as they will come back to battle for the $675,117 first prize as a result of having navigated through a field of 2,857.

This year’s champions in $1,500 full ring No-Limit Hold’em events so far have been Foster Hays, Andy Frankenberger, Kirk Caldwell, and Arkadiy Tsinis.

Practically all of the Pavilion room along with around half of the Amazon room is set to be filled for this event as it will surely attract another enormous field. Play will get underway at 12 p.m. PST and ten levels will be played today. Stay tuned with us at PokerNews as we provide you with all of today’s coverage along with updates on the rest of this tournament and every other one throughout the 2011 World Series of Poker.
