First Stud Event of the Series
We are back at the WSOP and for the first time in the series the dealers will be dealing sixth and seventh streets instead of flops, turns, and rivers as we are getting ready to start up Event #5: $1,500 Seven Card Stud.
Last year, Richard Ashby outlasted the 408 person field and pocketed $140,467 for his efforts. Ashby survived a brutal final table that included Dan Heimiller, Sorel Mizzi, Pat Pezzin, and Jon Turner.
So far this year every event has seen more entries then last year's, and we will see if the trend continues today in the first stud event of the series. Stay posted to PokerNews as we will run down a list of all the notable faces we see shortly, and enjoy the action!

Dutch Boyd and Steve Billirakis are sitting next to each other to start the tournament, and the two of them just got involved in an early pot. The two players each put in 100 chips on every street until seventh, where they both checked. Boyd revealed 
, and his pair of aces was good enough to take the pot and give him a nice boost to start the tournament.
