Fosco and the Mighty Nine-Deuce

Livello 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

The table folded around to the blinds, and Mike Fosco open-shoved for 188,000 with the mighty {9-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds}. In the big, Dylan Wilkerson figured {K-Hearts} {2-Hearts} was good enough to call with, and it was bad news for Fosco's dominated hand.

Bad news, that is, until the flop brought {10-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {9-Spades} and a big lead for the at-risk player, and the turn {Q-Diamonds} and river {2-Clubs} locked up the double. Tens and nines get the job done for Fosco, and he's back to 388,000 now. Wilkerson has less than that after getting three-outed, and he's going to have to do some work now with 330,000 chips left.

Teisseire Doubles In Dramatic Fashion

Livello 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Antonin Teisseire got his final 260,000 all in preflop against Michael Benvenuti. Teisseire was well behind with his {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts} against the {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} of Benvenuti. The flop was {6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and the turn was the {8-Clubs}. Teisseire was down to five outs but the river {9-Clubs} delivered for him. When it hit, there was a slight delay before he gave a big shout with a very deep voice. He got up and celebrated with a couple friends on the rail before being issued a warning for excessive celebration. Benvenuti remained quiet the whole time as he slid over the chips to call, leaving himself with just 335,000.

Ronconi Slips Up

Livello 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

You'll note that Darryl Ronconi has been knocked out of the top spot in the counts, and we have a few details on his slide.

He opened a pot to 40,000 from the hijack seat, and Jim Routos called to see a flop out of position in the small blind. It came {2-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {K-Clubs}, and Routos check-called a bet of 65,000. That led them to the {6-Spades} turn, and Ronconi fired again, 175,000 total. This time, however, Routos check-raised all in for 562,000 total. That sent Ronconi into the think tank, but he eventually uncapped his cards and slid them into the muck, dropping back to a still-quite-healthy 1.25 million.

Action folded around to Michael Benvenuti in the small blind. He looked down at his cards and moved all in. Ryan Young was in the big blind with about 250,000 and called for less.

Benvenuti: {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Young: {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

The board ran out {6-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} and Young could not improve. With that pot, Benvenuti is now in possession of 780,000 chips.

On an {8-Spades}{a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} board, Narendra Banwari bet 47,000 into a pot already worth at least 100,000. In position, Kevin Eyster made the call. The river was the {2-Clubs} and Banwari checked to Eyster who moved all in for 174,000. Banwari thought long enough to enter the break time. Eventually he made the call with {k-Spades}{9-Hearts}. Eyster showed a busted combo-draw with {10-Spades}{7-Spades} and had no choice but to hit the rail.

Banwari now has over a million chips with that pot.
