2011 World Series of Poker
Event #54: $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em
Giorno 2 completo
Play is now finished for the day and after we've lost almost 600 players in our ten levels at almost one player a minute as we went through the field, as well as the bubble, like a hot knife through butter. With the casualty rates almost equivalent to those in the film Starship Troopers, very few players have survived. However it is Anibal Andres who will be going into the penultimate day of this event with the chip lead, having amassed 799,000 by the end of today's proceedings.
Other players still in with big stacks are Stanislav Alekhin (786,000), Terrance Eischens (709,000) as well as Max Lykov (338,000) and Matt LaGarde (517,000) who all have a chance at taking this final $1,000 bracelet of the 2011 World Series of Poker. Among the casualties however were Jeff Madsen, Martin Jacobson, Vitaly Lunkin, Terrence Chan and Day 1 chip leader Paul Volpe - all of whom managed to make the money, though not as far as they would've hoped.
Tomorrow we will be playing down to our final table which by WSOP standards should prove to be a relatively short day give that were will only be five tables of nine players remaining. We'll be restarting once more at 2.30pm, so until then, it's over and out from the PokerNews Reporting Team!
Players are on the last three hands of the night before play ends.
Wow.
Anibol Andres raised all in from UTG for about 500,000 and another stack snap-called off his chips with , Andres showed and got there on a board to massively increase his chip stack and (it looks like) take the chip lead.

On a board of , Matt LaGarde bet 60,000 into an already sizable pot and got a call. He showed and it was good for the win.
After the hand, LaGarde is up to 520,000 currently sits third in chips.

Vincent Jacques, who less than four levels ago had a nice chip lead here in Event #54: $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em has now hit the rail. Jacques, gave away most of his chips in a huge hand against Stanislav Alekhin (second in chips with 710,000) but just lost the rest after he went all in preflop with and was called down by .
The board ran out and Jacques went from chip leader to out in not very much time at all.

It's become a personal battle between Matt LaGarde and Max Lykov as they're tangling in several pots. First Lykov three-bet LaGarde's opening raise which followed with a call before the Russian won with a bet on the flop. Soon after it was LaGarde applying the pressure after Lykov made it 27,000, he was met with a reraise to 70,000 for the former to win the pot this time.
Terrance Eischens has run it up to the top of our counts here in the last few levels of the day, and people seem to be continuing to gift him their stacks.
A player open shoved all in for his last 60,000 or so chips and Eischens called him down with and the all in player showed . The board ran out and Eischens scooped his chips to move up to 735,000.

Anibol Andres has just eliminated a player with against with the board coming . Apparently the short stack's friends were none too happy and accused Andres of slowrolling with some, perhaps harsh language involved.
