Toth Makes Tough Call

We managed to catch up to Richard Toth who was facing a 2,500 chip bet on a {A-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} board. With around 6,000 already in the pot Toth went into the tank to contemplate a call. After two minutes or so Toth threw in the appropriate amount of chips. Toth's opponent immediately mucked, when it was on Toth to show his cards to claim the pot he simply let them lay there face down. The dealer announced that someone needed to show in order to win the hand, so Toth flipped over {A-}{2-} for a pair of aces and the pot.

Alexander Roumeliotis

Swede Alexander Roumeliotis has been eliminated after getting involved in a three-bet pot against Carlos Mortensen. The chips all went in on a {J-}{6-}{6-} flop, Roumeliotis holding {Q-}{Q-} but the Spaniard flipped {7-}{6-} for trip sixes to eliminate him.

Mortensen is over the 50,000 mark now.

Khan Can't Catch a Flush

Livello 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

The under-the-gun player raised to 600 and a player in middle position re-raised to 1,475. Hafiz Khan called while the initial raiser folded. The flop came {8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and the first player bet out 2,475 which Khan called. Both players checked after the {5-Clubs} came on the turn and saw the {k-Spades} hit on the river. The first player checked to Khan who bet 4,600 and the other player snap called.

Khan: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Khan had nothing but a busted flush draw and the other player's pair of kings was good enough to win the pot. Khan was left with 31,600 after the hand.

E-Fro Hits The Rail

We caught up with the action on the turn when there was over 9,500 in the pot with a board reading {10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}. Eric Froehlich had a bet of 5,200 sitting in front of him and his opponent made the call.

The river brought the {Q-Spades} and Froehlich's opponent checked. Froelich pondered for about forty seconds before dropping the rest of his stack all in for 10,950.

"Alright, I call", his opponent said rather quickly, given the size of the hand. He flipped over {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}. Froehlich shook his head and tabled {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}, gathered his things, and quickly headed toward the rail.

Mizrachi Loves Jacks

After a series of raises preflop, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi moved all in for 10,350. Derek Bailey, who recently sat in the ten seat, called, and we we're off to the races!

Mizrachi: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Bailey: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

The dealer fanned {q-Spades}{6-Spades}{a-Hearts}, giving Bailey a pair of aces, and the crowd in the Thunderdome groaned with discontent.

The groans turned to cheers when the {j-Hearts} turned however, and Mizrachi's eyes widened with surprise at the sight of the two-outer. The {3-Spades} completed the board, and Mizrachi doubled to 23,000 chips.

The crowd clapped wildly, and Mizrachi gave a wave of appreciation.

Trickett Takes Some Chips

Sam Trickett was down a bit early on in the day, but he has just won a nice pot that has pushed him back over his starting stack. We came to the table and saw four players, including Trickett, take a flop of {q-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. The player to Trickett's right bet out 1,700 into the pot that already had 2,800, and Trickett was the only caller. The turn brought the {2-Spades}, and again, his opponent led out, this time for 3,200. Trickett once again opted to call, and the river came the {8-Diamonds}. Both players decided to check, and Trickett's opponent showed {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for a pair of queens. It was second best as Trickett flipped up {k-Spades}{q-Hearts} for top pair with a better kicker. Trickett took the chips, and upped his stack up to 32,000.

Ramos Runs Into Rockets

We caught up with the action on a {5-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Spades} flop. The player in the small blind and Felipe Ramos checked to the player in the hi-jack, who bet 650. Both players called.

The turn came the {K-Clubs} and the small blind checked to Ramos, who bet 1,350. The player in the hi-jack called, but the small blind folded.

The {3-Diamonds} completed the board and Ramos checked, prompting a 3,300 bet from his opponent. Ramos called and his opponent revealed {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}, which was good enough to scoop the pot as his opponent mucked.

Ramos is down to 20,000.

Something Sketchy Going On

Livello 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

A middle position player raised to 600 and received calls from both the small blind and Jon "sketchy1" Eaton in the big blind. The flop came {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades} and both blinds checked to the preflop raiser who bet 1,500. The small blind folded and Eaton called. The turn brought the {5-Diamonds} and both players checked and saw the {8-Clubs} come on the river. Eaton tossed out a bet of 2,450 which prompted a fold from his opponent and Eaton scooped the pot.

Eaton seems to be off to a bit of a rough start but still has plenty of room to maneuver with 21,700 in his stack.
