Day 5 of the 2011 WSOP Main Event was the first where all of the players who started the day were in the money. The bustouts came at a torrid pace and of the 378 players that began, we believe that 142 remain after four levels of play. Leading the field is David Bach at 4,706,000 who is followed by Pius Heinz (4,699,000), Kyle Johnson (4,654,000), Phil Collins (4,109,000) and Ben Lamb (4,032,000) who are the only other players above the four million mark.
One of the key hands for Bach was near the end of the day when Bach got it in bad preflop with against Max Heinzelmann’s . The flop had Bach very live though as it came to give him a flush draw. The on the turn changed nothing but Bach spiked the on the river to nail his flush and bust Heinzelmann.
The chip lead changed numerous times throughout the day between Bach, Heinz and Lamb with a few others thrown in there for brief periods. But the man who started the day ahead, Manoj Viswanathan, didn’t hang onto it for very long. By dinner break, he was already shockingly gone at the hands of David Barter who took a couple of big pots off Viswanathan throughout the day until Viswanathan ran his pocket queens into Barter’s aces to bust.
Some other big stacks and notables still left include Bryan Devonshire,Thomas Grey, Lars Bonding, Aleksandr Mozhnyakov, Sam Barnhart, Sebastian Ruthenberg, JP Kelly, Tom Koral, David Barter, Tony Hachem, Jean-Robert Bellande, Andrew Brokos, Aaron Jones, Tyler Bonkowski, Daryl Jace, Allen Cunningham, Joseph Cheong, Bryan Colin, Ruben Visser, Sami Kelopuro, Ray Henson, David Sands, Sorel Mizzi, Eli Elezra and Erick Lindgren.
There are also three women still left in the field, each with a chance to become the first woman to make the November Nine. They are Claudia Crawford, Amanda Musumeci and Erika Moutinho.
A bunch of those who weren’t lucky enough to make it through the day included Daniel Negreanu, Darus Suharto, Freddy Deeb, John Cernuto, Jon Turner, Alex Kamberis, Robert Mcgreevy-Iler, Carter King, Peter Jetten, Kevin Saul, Paul Volpe, Joe Tehan, Matt Stout, Mark Newhouse, Garry Gates and Martin De Knijff.
Play will resume tomorrow at 12 p.m. PST where five levels of play are scheduled however we shall see if they reduce the number of levels played down to four. In any case, we certainly hope to see you back here again at PokerNews where we will have all of your coverage of the WSOP Main Event.
With the board reading , Ben Tollerence got his stack of what looked to be roughly 430,000 into the middle with , but he was behind Tyler Bonkowski's . The turn and river provided no help for Tollerene, ending his Main Event just as Day 5 concludes.
Massimiliano Martinez opened for 40,000 on the button and Marc Mclaughlin raised to 95,000 from the small blind. Once the big blind folded Martinez moved all in and Mclaughlin called.
The flipped their hands over and Martinez had and Mclaughlin had . The dealer announced all in and call, but ESPN producers didn't have a camera crew in the area. The dealer was told to wait while other hands finished before running the board. Once they arrived a few more ticks on the clock went by until they were ready to shoot the hand.
The board ran and Martinez earned a double up with his straight.

We're not sure of the betting, but Timothy Faro ultimately ended up all in for 350,000 in the big blind with and up against the of Vasily Tsapko. Faro was the one at risk, but he was ahead with his ace. Unfortunately for him, the flop changed all that as Tsapko hit a king.
The brought Faro one step closer to elimination, but it was the that sent him out the door. Tsapko is up to 1.59 million.

We caught up with the action on the turn with 340,000 in the pot already on board reading . Hilton Laborda led out for 215,000 from middle position and was called by his lone opponent - Matthew Wantman on the button.
The completed the board and Laborda checked, prompting a 425,000 bet from Wantman. Laborda fell deep into the tank, but eventually slid out a call. Wantman showed for a bluff and Laborda tabled for a rivered two-pair, which was good for the pot.

We didn't catch any of the action, but we went over to David "Doc" Sands's table and saw that he was in the middle of a huge pot. The flop read out , and Sands had gotten the rest of his nearly 750,000 in chips in the middle. Giuseppe Pastura looked him up, and when the cards were flipped, Sands was well outfront.
Sands:
Pastura:
Despite Pastrua flopping top pair top kicker, he was miles behind Sands, who flopped bottom set. Despite being well out front, we all know thats its never easy in poker, as the hit the turn, giving Pastura outs for a better full house. Needing an ace or an eight on the river to score the sick suckout, Pastura whiffed, as the river came the .
Sands is now sitting on 1.5 million, while Pastura is down to 2 million after that hand.

With 120,000 in the pot and a flop of , Jody Howe checked from middle position and Ray Henson fired out 56,000 from the cutoff. Howe gave it some thought, but ultimately settled on a fold.
It's not the most exciting hand, but it did give us an excuse to get in one last Henson update!
