Negreanu Shoves, Survives

Livello 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Daniel Skolovy opened with a raise to 16,000 from middle position, and it folded around to Daniel Negreanu in the big blind who reraised all in for 118,000 total.

Negreanu counted out his chips for Skolovy's benefit as the cameras gathered. "I got 118, bro," he said with a grin, then began to address the camera, saying something about Vancouver and referencing the riots that followed the recent conclusion of the NHL Game 7 final.

"If I lose this hand, I'm going to flip over this table," said Skolovy with a wide smile, and all laughed.

The conversation continued, with Negreanu spelling out the exact pot odds Skolovy had to call. Eventually he folded, and both players showed their hands -- {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for Skolovy, {K-Hearts}{k-Spades} for Negreanu. And no riot ensued, except for the laughing kind.

Negreanu goes to the break with 146,000, while Skolovy has 430,000.

Simon Sent Packing

Stephane Albertini recently eliminated Sam Simon from the 2011 WSOP Main Event. We missed the specific action, but when the chips were all in the board read {8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{k-Spades}, and the hands looked like this:

Albertini: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Simon: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

The {j-Diamonds} on the turn left Simon drawing dead, and the {q-Hearts} on the river completed the board. Simon was eliminated from the tournament, while Albertini is up to 1.68 million chips.

Ionel Lays it Down

We caught up with the action on a {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{10-Clubs} board where Anton Ionel checked from the big blind and a player in middle position bet 50,000. Ionel made the call and checked again when the {6-Spades} hit the river. His opponent instantly announced all in and Ionel gave it some thought before he threw in his hand.

Miles To Go

TK Miles
TK Miles

We caught up with the action when T.K. Miles and his opponent were all in for his opponent's tournament life on a board of {7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}. In front of Miles' opponent was {K-Spades}{J-Clubs} for a straight.

Unfortunately for his opponent, Miles held {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for tens full of queens. His opponent was sent to the rail while Miles's stack has now grown to about 620,000.

"Cobra" Khai Out of Venom

TeamAPL's last hope, "Cobra" Khai Nguyen, has just been eliminated from the 2011 WSOP Main Event.

As their Team Co-ordinator Daniel Milford revealed, Nguyen had been grinding his very short stack since before the dinner break, but finally came in with a raise from early position before shoving it in after an opponent re-raised. The opponent snap-called.

Opponent: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Nguyen: {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

The board ran out {5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{J-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs} and with either hand improving, Nguyen was sent to the rail, but he keeps TeamAPL's record of players cashing in the Main Event intact since its inception in 2009 - a stellar effort!

Rousso Out After Suffering Bach to Bach Losses

Vanessa Rousso
Vanessa Rousso

Vanessa Rousso called a bet of 25,000 on a flop of {5-Spades}{J-Clubs}{6-Clubs} against nemesis David Bach, On the {9-Spades} turn Bach bet 55,000 and Rousso made it 110,000, Bach responded by moving all in and Rousso called her remaining chips off.

Bach: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}
Rousso: {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}

Now it was Rousso who needed to hit the outdraw but the {8-Spades} river wasn't enough. Bach is over the million mark now and the big stack at this table.

Heinzelmann's Not Refunding Warren's Chips

Max Heinzelmann is now amongst the latest players to have joined the millionaire's club after stacking Warren Fund.

Fund shipped his last 135,000 into the middle before the flop with {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, but ran into Heinzelmann's {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. Neither hand improved on the board of {2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and that was end of the Fund run. Heinzelmann's now up to over 1.1 million in chips.
