Heinz Squeezed

Marc-Andre Ladouceur got the last 588,000 of his chips into the pot with {9-Diamonds} {9-Spades}, and that was a very bad thing when chip leader Pius Heinz woke up with {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs}.

Things got better for Ladouceur, but he had to sweat it out for five cards. The board ran {j-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, and the nine-ball in the corner pocket gives Ladouceur the unlikely double. He's back close to 1.25 million now, while Heinz falls from the top shelf, dropping down to 3.35 million.

Cheong Takes Some Off Jace

Livello 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Joseph Cheong opened to 35,000 from the hi-jack position and found one caller in Daryl Jace from the small blind.

The flop came {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{K-Hearts} and Jace checked, prompting a 50,000 c-bet from Cheong. Jace flatted.

The turn brought the {10-Hearts} and both players checked.

The {4-Clubs} completed the board and both players checked again. Cheong flipped over {9-Spades}{4-Spades} for a rivered pair of fours and Jace mucked.

Cheong is up to 1,500,000 while Jace has slid to 1,900,000.

Musumeci Off To Hot Start After Dinner

In one of the first few hands back from the dinner break, Amanda Musumeci has won a giant pot to up her stack to around 1.5 million. We came to the table with her heads up against Daniel Retallick on a board that read {3-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{a-Spades}{3-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. There was about 180,000 in the pot already, and Musumeci assembled a bet of 175,000 and slid it into the middle. Retallick thought for about 20 seconds before announcing call. Musumeci casually flipped up {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} for quads, and Retallick mucked his hand. Musumeci is now up to 1.4 million, and is looking to be a threat down the stretch tonight.

Howe Ya Doin Barter?

We found Jody Howe all in preflop for 238,000 and at risk against big stack David Barter.

Howe: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Barter: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}

Howe was flipping for his tournament flip and it wasn’t boding too well on the {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{9-Diamonds} flop. However on the turn, Howe nailed the {A-Diamonds} to take the lead which we wouldn’t give up on the {5-Hearts} river as he doubled up.

A Look at the Current WSOP Player-of-the-Year Leaderboard

Livello 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Ben Lamb, who currently sits second on the list, is making a deep run in the Main Event and is primed to overtake Phil Hellmuth; however, even that wouldn't be the end of things as the Player-of-the-Year Race is set to continue in October at the WSOP-Europe.

Coughlin Done

Livello 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Ruben Visser opened with a raise to 46,000 from under the gun, and Patrick Coughlin reraised all in from a couple of seats over for 259,000 total. It folded back around to Visser who called, showing {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} to Coughlin's {5-Clubs}{5-Clubs}.

The flop came {10-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, giving Visser a set, which became a full house after the {A-Clubs} turn. The {3-Spades} on the river was no matter, and Coughlin is out.

Visser is up to 929,000.

A Little One for Lamb

Livello 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Over on the secondary feature table, Niall Charlton opened with a raise from middle position, and it folded back to Ben Lamb who called from the big blind.

The flop came {K-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Lamb checked, Charlton bet 52,000, and Lamb made the call. Both then checked the {7-Clubs} turn.

The river brought the {K-Clubs}. Lamb checked, and Charlton quickly checked behind. With a sheepish look (no pun intended), Lamb turned over {7-}{7-} for sevens full, and the table -- and gathering crowd -- laughed a little with Lamb at his having been unable to get Charlton to bite.

Lamb is hovering right at the 4 million-chip mark, currently challenging Plus Heinz and David Bach for the chip lead. Meanwhile, Charlton has about 1.875 million.

Bach Plays Another One Off

See??
See??

Steven Tabb ran his {K-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} and his last 115,000 into the {6-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} of monster stack David Bach. The board rolled out {8-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{5-Spades}, and that's how Tabb's Main Event run has ended.

Trying to get a count on David Bach's stack is like trying to count jellybeans in a fishbowl. We'll call it 4.2 million, near as we can tell.

Cheong and Jace Keep Facing Off

Joseph Cheong
Joseph Cheong

Daryl Jace and Joseph Cheong keeping playing big pots against each other. With Jace in early position he made it 100,000 to go and action folded all the way around to Cheong in the big blind. He called and they saw a flop of {5-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}. The both checked and the {7-Clubs} came on the turn. They checked again and the {5-Spades} came on the river.

Cheong bet 175,000 and Jace called. Cheong tabled {7-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} for a full house and Jace mucked.
