Hewitt Keeps Doing It

Livello 32 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante

Eoghan O'Dea opened for 425,000 from middle position, and it folded to John Hewitt on the button. Hewitt, having just finished stacking chips from that hand in which he knocked out Kenny Shih, plucked 1.175 million off the top to send out as a reraise. The blinds got out, and O'Dea stepped aside as well.

Hewitt is up around 17.5 million now. O'Dea has 23.5 million, good for second place at the moment behind Anton Makievskyi.

Kenny Shih Eliminated in 18th Place ($378,796)

Kenny Shih - 18th Place
Kenny Shih - 18th Place

Kenny Shih was under the gun and raised to 525,000. Action folded to John Hewitt in the big blind and he made the calling, checking the {A-Clubs}{6-Spades}{7-Clubs} afterwards. Shih responded with a continuation bet of 700,000, Hewitt check-raised to 2 million, and Shih moved all in. Hewitt made the call and the cards were turned up.

Showdown
Shih: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Hewitt: {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}

Shih's eights were technically ahead, but the overs and nut-flush draw of Hewitt essentially made it a flip. Unfortunately for Shih, the {2-Clubs} spiked on the turn to give Hewitt the flush and the win. The {7-Spades} was run out on the river for good measure, as Shih made his way to the payout desk in 18th place.

Threes Good for Makievskyi

From middle position, Ryan Lenaghan raised 450,000. Anton Makievskyi called from the button and Andrey Pateychuk called from the big blind before the flop came out {10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. Action checked to Lenaghan and he bet 750,000. Makievskyi called in position and Pateychuk folded.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and both players checked. The river completed the board with the {4-Spades} and both players checked again.

Makievskyi tabled the {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} to beat Lenaghan's {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and win the pot.

Devonshire Pays Off the Kings of O'Dea

Livello 32 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante

Bryan Devonshire raised to 430,000 from middle position and received a call from Eoghan O'Dea in the cutoff. The rest of the field got out of the way and it was heads up to the {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop, which went check-check. When the dealer burned and turned the {4-Hearts}, Devonshire led out for 330,000, O'Dea raised to 800,000, and Devonshire made the call.

Devonshire then check-called a bet of 1.4 million on the {7-Spades} river, only to muck when O'Dea flipped over {K-}{K-}.

Collins Collects from Nguyen

Livello 32 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante

It folded around to Khoa Nguyen in the cutoff who raised to 450,000, then Phil Collins -- sitting a couple of seats over in the small blind -- reraised to 1.05 million. Konstantinos Mamaliadis folded the big blind, and Nguyen called.

The flop came {3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}. Collins led with a bet of 1.2 million, and Nguyen quickly called. The turn was the {K-Hearts}. Collins carved out 2 million this time, and after thinking a bit Nguyen let it go.

Collins has about 11.8 million now, while Nguyen slides a bit more down to 9.3 million.

Devonshire vs. Hewitt

Livello 32 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante

John Hewitt opened for 425,000 from middle position and action folded to Bryan Devonshire in the cutoff. He put out a reraise to 1.08 million, Hewitt four-bet to 2.1 million, and Devonshire announced that he was all in. No sooner did the words leave his lips than Hewitt flicked his cards to the muck.

Staszko Starts Well

Livello 32 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante

Martin Staszko has gotten off to a quick start here at the secondary feature table, taking the first two hands following the redraw.

On the first one, Staszko opened with a raise to 425,000 from the button and got a caller in Khoa Nguyen from the big blind. The flop came {7-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and both players checked. The turn brought the {8-Hearts} and a couple more checks.

The river was the {Q-Clubs}. Nguyen checked, and Staszko didn't waste too much time before betting a hefty 1.08 million. Nguyen sat in thought, moving his chips around as he considered what to do. Finally Nguyen called.

Staszko showed {Q-}{6-} for queens and nines, and Nguyen mucked, dropping to about 11.5 million.

Staszko opened with a raise to 425,000 from the cutoff on the next hand as well, and claimed the blinds and antes. He's up to about 6.15 million.
