Welcome to the 2011 WSOP Event #6: $1,500 Limit Hold'em Event!

Who doesn't want one of these?
Who doesn't want one of these?

Another glorious day has greeted us here in Las Vegas (albeit unseasonably cool for this time of year), but the PokerNews Live Reporting Team are on deck once again at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, as we prepare for the sixth event on the World Series of Poker schedule: the $1,500 Limit Hold’em event.

No Limit Hold’em may be the Cadillac of Poker, but Limit Hold’em could be considered the Oldsmobile version of the game. Sure, it’s not as popular, but you’re going to see more hands, more often – and with another coveted WSOP gold bracelet on the line, the emotions will be running just as high.

You only have to ask 34-year-old Matt Matros: the Yale mathematics major from Long Island, New York, defeated a field of 625 players in the same event last year for title and $189,870 in prize money. For Matros, it was the monkey he needed to get off his back: "I think I can look at my resume now and say I’ve got all the pieces checked off. I really had not had the signature victory, until now.”

Matros may have another couple of chapters to add to his autobiographical novel, The Making of a Poker Player, but in three days’ time, we know that there will be one person writing their own chapter in WSOP history. Who knows, it could even be Matros again!

But to find out, you’re just going to have to keep your browsers locked onto PokerNews for every sweat, suck-out and celebration. The cards will be in the air at 12pm PST (GMT -7) – stay tuned - but in the meantime allow Lynn Gilmartin to update you across all events here to get your started on your day:
