After 17 levels of play, Day 1 of Event #15: $1,500 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em of the 2023 World Series of Poker at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas has drawn to a close. The field of 2,454 entrants generated a prize pool of $3,276,090 of which 369 players were to be paid. The bubble burst by the end of the day's proceedings, and 161 players bagged and tagged chips for Day 2. Brandon Hall secured the chip lead with a stack of 1,440,000.

Bradley Jansen, who won this event in 2021 for $313,403, bagged 651,000 for Day 2 as he hunts for his second WSOP gold bracelet. An assortment of big stacks joining Jansen on day 2 include Stevens Chen (1,100,000), Allan Le (800,000), Matthew Wantman (774,000), and Harrison Ashdown (678,000).

Another 6-handed event of the 2023 World Series of Poker begins at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas with Event #15: $1,500 6-Handed No-Limit Hold’em.

Action will be the name of the game for today. With only six players at each table, this tournament should be exciting to follow. The defending champion is Leo Soma from France, who won $456,889 in 2022. He has already been spotted in Las Vegas and will definitely be back to defend his title.

Soma overcame a stacked final table in 2022 when he defeated Thomas Schultz heads-up. The final table also featured familiar players like Ivan Zhechev and the 2009 Main Event champion Joe Cada.

Cards will be in the air at 10 a.m. local time and players begin Day 1 with 25,000 chips. Blinds start at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante and levels are 40 minutes, with a 20-minute break after every three levels. A 75-minute dinner break is also on the schedule after Level 12, which is expected to be around 7 p.m. They will play 17 levels today, with late registration possible until the end of Level 9 and the following break. This should be around 5 p.m.
