Event #31: $600 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em & Pot-Limit Omaha kicks off today at 10 a.m. local time at the 2023 World Series of Poker at Horseshoe & Paris Las Vegas.
Last year's version of this event saw Romans Voitovs of Latvia emerge victorious, defeating a field of 2,107 players to take home his first career WSOP bracelet and the top cash prize of $158,609. He defeated the veteran American Michael Dobbs in heads-up play to secure the title.
Players begin the day with 30,000 chips with blinds starting at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante. All levels will last 30 minutes. There will be a 20-minute break after every fourth level, with a 75-minute dinner break after Level 16. Late registration will close at the end of Level 12, about 5 p.m. local time. Players who are eliminated before registration closes are allowed up to two reentries.
Twenty-two levels will be played today, after which the remaining players will bag and tag their chips before returning for Day 2 on Wednesday, June 14th, for a 10:00 a.m. restart and they will play down to a winner.

Three players saw a flop of A♣8♣5♦, with 2,400 in the middle. The hijack bet 1,200 which gained a fold from the cutoff, but Zane Lipsey in middle position made the call.
The 7♠ fell on the turn and the hijack bet 2,500 which was quickly called by Lipsey. Both players checked the 4♦ river and Lipsey tabled A♥10♠ to win the pot.

With 22,200 in the middle on a completed board of 3♦2♣5♦10♦Q♦, Ameen Al-Bayati was in action once again and bet 10,000 from the cutoff.
The small blind played with their chips and reviewed their cards, but eventually tapped the table and conceded the pot to Al-Bayati who has almost doubled their stack in the first hour of play.
