A player who has yet to win a bracelet in a split-pot game, but holds more bracelets than the rest of the field, is Johnny Chan, who comes into the day with 147,000. The two-time WSOP Main Event champion and ten-time WSOP bracelet winner brings a wealth of experience into play, with his first reported tournament cash dating back forty years. In a year where many experienced pros have added more bracelets to their accolades, can Chan add one more and become only the second player ever to get more than ten?
Play will begin at 1 p.m. in the Horseshoe at Level 16 with blinds at 3,000-6,000 with a 6,000 big blind ante. Levels will be upped to 60 minutes and a 15-minute break will occur at the conclusion of every two levels. Players will play ten levels before finishing the day and get a 60-minute dinner break at the conclusion of Level 21.

Action was recapped by Allen Kessler as his stack had grown significantly since the start of the day.
Kessler had seen a flop from the button and both players had gotten in their chips on a flop reading A♣2♠9♦, with Kessler having put himself all in for 38,000.
Allen Kessler: A♠Q♣7♣3♣2♥
Opponent: A♦9♠5♥4♦3♥
Kessler needed to catch a queen, running sevens, or running clubs to survive and he caught that on the Q♦A♥ runout to double up.
"Wow," he exclaimed, "I got it in drawing basically dead."
