2023 World Series of Poker
Players have left the cardroom to enjoy a 15-minute break.
783 players will return in the quest for the WSOP gold bracelet.
All the chips went into the middle preflop when the big blind shoved 141,000 and was called by Richard Orton in early position.
Big Blind: 10♣10♥
Richard Orton: A♦A♣
The big blind was well behind and was virtually drawing dead after an ace in the window on the board of A♠K♠3♣6♠J♥ to give Orton a set of aces. The big blind headed for the payout desk while Orton added to his ever-increasing stack.

A player in middle position called and action folded to Dara O'Kearney, who raised from the button. The middle position called.
The flop came A♣6♦K♠. It was checked to O'Kearney, who bet 23,000 and received another call.
The turn was the 8♥ and was checked by both players. The river came 7♠. It was checked to O'Kearney and once more and he threw in a 25,000 chip.
After tanking for just over a minute, the middle position player called. O'Kearney turned over A♠10♣ and his opponent mucked, flashing the K♥ as he did so.
It has been a good day so far for O'Kearney, who cashed two tournaments in the space of an hour. He is also currently in the Tag Team event, although his playing partner Julie Marriott is clearly doing the heavy lifting in that one.

There was an early position open to 14,000 and a call from middle position. It then folded to Alejandro Burzaco on the button who raised to 50,000. The blinds folded and the original raiser went all in having the table covered. The middle position player folded and Burzaco made the call for his tournament life.
Alejandro Burzaco: J♦J♠
Early position: A♥A♣
The A♠3♣7♠ flop left Burzaco essentially drawing dead. The J♦ turn was quite the needle as his set would not be enough to save his tournament but the J♣ on the river landed and gave him quads in the most unlikely of scenarios.
Burzaco got the pure double in an absolutely stunning finish.

There was an under the gun raise to 11,000. A player in the cutoff called and Michael Goldfarb defended his big blind. The players were off to see a board three ways.
The 2♣4♠7♠ flop hit the felt and it checked to the cutoff who went all in for 26,000. Goldfarb went into the tank for over a minute before sliding in the call. The player that was under the gun also called.
The action checked through on the 6♥ turn and K♥ river.
The cutoff had A♣Q♣ for ace high. The under-the-gun player had whiffed with Q♠J♠ and Goldfarb scooped with 5♣5♠.

With 22,000 in the pot on the flop of Q♥10♦7♠, Clinton Hartshorn bet 7,000 from under the gun and was called by David Maudlin in the big blind.
The K♠ landed on the turn and Hartshorn bet 12,000 which was called by Maudlin once again. A bricky-looking 2♦ was dealt on the river and both players checked to showdown.
Both were hesitant to show their hands. Hartshorn turned over the 10♠ and Maudlin tabled the 10♣. After a brief stalemate, Maudlin showed the A♠ which outkicked Hartshorn's 9♠.

The big blind checked to Waheed Ashraf in the hijack, who bet 14,000 and got two quick folds.
Ashraf began adding the chips to his stack, which has more than tripled in the first three levels of the day.
