Action has ended for the day in Event #49: $1,500 Super Turbo Bounty, with the final table being officially set. The tournament was scheduled as a single-day event, but another day was added due to the size of the field, which reached the impressive figure of 2,226 entries. The tournament generated $1,858,710 in prize money, with a min-cash being worth $1,505 and a first-place prize of $270,700.

Leading the pack is the famous Argentinian rapper Alejandro Lococo, who had a fantastic day accumulating $500 bounties and bagged an impressive 15,550,000. The player, well known under his nickname ‘"Papo MC," is hunting his first bracelet after finishing in seventh place in the 2021 Main Event and looking to add to his $2.4 million in Hendon Mob-reported earnings.

Will Linden is second in chips with 8,850,000, followed by Taiwanese player Chen An Lin with 7,700,000.

French player Fabrice Bigot bubbled the official final table when his ace-nine crashed into Michael Burns's pocket queens; Bigot collected $18,891. It's the second deep run of the series for Bigot, coming one week after his 29th place finish in Event #32, $3,000 No Limit Hold'em (6-Handed).

At the bottom of the pack, we find Kenneth Maurer (3,400,000) and Frank Lagodich (1,750,000), who will try to multiply his six big blinds when the play restarts tomorrow at 2 p.m local time at the Horshoe Casino.

Today's Action

With 20-minute levels, it didn't take long for the field to dwindle down, and the bubble was reached during Level 17 when three players shared the 334th place only a few minutes after the hand-for-hand play started. By the dinner break, there were less than 200 players remaining.

Notably, Damian Salas, winner of the 2020 Main Event, achieved a nice deep run on this event and hit the rail in 35th place ($8,507). Michael Rodrigues, who just won his first bracelet ten days ago in Event #20: $1,500 Badugi, fell in 18th place ($9,817), while Russian player Nikita Kuznetcov finished his run in 12th place ($12,086).

Others notables who cashed in the Super Turbo Bounty event include Leo Margets, Eric Baldwin, Dylan Wilkerson, three-time bracelet winners Chance Kornuth and Daniel Idema, Xuan Liu, Jeremy Saderne and four-time bracelet winner Dominik Nitsche to name just a few.

Some of the players that did enter today but weren’t allowed to make a trip to the payout desk included Martin Kabrhel, Daniel Negreanu, Chris Hunichen, Jessica Teusl, Niall Farrell, Main Event Champions Martin Jacobson and Chris Moneymaker, Sylvain Loosli, Maria Konnikova, and Mustapha Kanit.

The final table starts at 2:00 p.m local time on June 22. Play starts with nine minutes remaining in Level 33 (150,000/300,000/300,000) then moves on to Level 34, which features a small blind of 200,000, big blind of 400,000, and an ante of 400,000. The nine finalists will all be guaranteed at least $23,978, and the action is expected to be fast and furious again.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be on hand to bring you all the updates from the “Shuffle up and deal” until a new champion receive a gold bracelet, so make sure to keep coming back!

John Longoria Eliminated in 11th Place ($18,891)

Livello 33 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
John Longoria
John Longoria

John Longoria raised to 600,000, and Michael Burns shoved for a remaining stack of around 730,000. The shove was called by Will Linden and Longoria.

All the chips went in the middle on the flop 245, with Longoria being at risk for his last 1,000,000 to create the following three-way showdown:

John Longoria: A10
Michael Burns: 33
Will Linden: A4

Linden had hit a pair of fours and was in good shape to bust his opponents. The 2x didn't change anything on the turn, but the 6 hit the river to gift a straight and a triple up for Burns, while Linden took down the side pot and busted Longoria.

On the button, Danny Allen pushed all of his 1,700,000 chips into the middle. And he got paid by Will Linden in the big blind.

Danny Allen: A5
Will Linden: AK

There was no suspense in this hand, as Linden found a full house on KKQJA.
