Watson Brings Canadian Snow to Las Vegas

Livello 28 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 150,000 ante
Mike Watson
Mike Watson

Mike Watson opened to 200,000 from under the gun. It folded to Brad Ruben in the big blind, who put the additional lavender 100,000 chip in.

Watson patted with 10x10x10x4x2x, setting up the snow play, and Ruben drew two to his AxKx9x6x3x. Ruben received two more threes, setting himself up for a potential snow of his own.

However he checked, and Watson put out 300,000 to complete the snow when Ruben folded his better trips.

Erik Seidel Eliminated in 5th Place ($31,114)

Livello 27 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 120,000 ante
Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

Jason Mercier opened for 160,000 from the cutoff and small blind Mike Watson called. From the big blind Erik Seidel moved all in for 1,285,000. Mercier folded, and Watson called.

Watson rapped the table, and Seidel tanked for the longest period of time he has all tournament. As he made a decision for his tournament life he pulled a stack of pink 5,000 chips back from his stack to riffle, sat with a hand on his head, and made a long exhale. He separated one card from his hand and slid it forward.

Watson showed 10x7x6x3x2x and Seidel had made the right decision by breaking his 10x9x8x5x3x to draw to a nine.

Unfortunately for Seidel, he caught a queen and his awe-inspiring quest for a tenth WSOP came to an end.

Livello 27 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 120,000 ante

Jason Mercier raised to 160,000 from under the gun, Brad Ruben called one seat over and Jon Turner defended the big blind. Turner drew two while Mercier and Ruben both drew one.

After the draw, Turner and Mercier checked to Ruben who bet 375,000. Turner took a while before calling, while Mercier folded.

Ruben fanned out 9x8x7x4x2x and Turner let out an audible sigh, flashing 9x8x7x first, followed by the 2x, before finally sliding the 6x across the felt.
