Hale and Trivett Skirmish

Livello 1 : Blinds 100/100, 200 ante
Michael Trivett
Michael Trivett

An early position player raised to 200, followed by a 600 reraise from middle position. Michael Trivett called from the button, but then Brant Hale bumped it one more time to 3,600 from the small blind. Everyone folded to Trivett, who after careful consideration put in the call.

Hale, who notched a final table earlier this summer in the $2,500 Mixed Triple Draw Lowball event, drew one, as did mixed-game specialist Trivett.

Hale deliberated after the draw before checking. Trivett checked behind. Hale regretfully declared he had paired, and Trivett took down the sizable pot with a queen-eight.

The Sheikh Concedes Big Pot

Livello 2 : Blinds 100/200, 300 ante
Shawn Sheikhan
Shawn Sheikhan

A player opened to 700 from under the gun only to see Shawn Sheikhan three-bet to 2,100 from the cutoff. Action folded back around to the original raiser, who decided to come back over the top for 6,500. Sheikhan made the call.

The under-the-gun player stood pat while Sheikhan chose to take one card, after which the four-bettor continued his aggression with a bet of 6,500. That sent Sheikhan into the tank but eventually he decided to pick a better spot, mucking his holding to take a decent hit to his stack.

Turner Slides Under Allison

Livello 2 : Blinds 100/200, 300 ante

From middle position Jon Turner raised to 700, and John Allison called from the small blind.

Each player took one card, and when Allison checked to Turner, he continued for 1,400. Allison sighed and called.

Turner, who finished 11th in this year's inaugural badugi event, showed 9x8x5x4x3x and Allison spun his cards back toward the dealer.

Vonk in the Mix

Livello 2 : Blinds 100/200, 300 ante

Bracelet winner Marcel Vonk was seen entering the field and quickly got to work, opening to 700 from middle position. Both the small and big blind called to generate three-way action heading to the draw.

The small blind took two while the big blind and Vonk each opted for one. Action then checked around with Vonk showing down 10x9x8x7x3x to rake in the pot. Despite the win, the Dutch expert on string theory does still sit below starting stack and will need a few more pots like that to make up the lost ground.

Gabrialian Grabs an Early One

Livello 2 : Blinds 100/200, 300 ante

Krisd Gabrialian took advantage of the new rule this year and limped from early position. Donny Rubinstein decided there's no school like the old school and increased the price to play to 800, which Gabrialian called.

Each player requested one replacement card and then checked. Rubinstein called out that he had paired, and Gabrialian's 10x6x5x4xAx scooped up the pot.
