After a long Day 2 on Event #65: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed of the 2023 World Series of Poker, 48 players will come back this Friday, June 30, for Day 3 in Paris and Horseshoe Las Vegas. The restart was scheduled at noon, but the tournament staff and the players agreed to begin a bit later, at 1 p.m.
All the changes are due to another record-breaking number of entrants, with 1,199 entries compared to 920 last year. This field generated a prize pool of $5,046,200. All players are already in the money, assured of $16,261. But there will be a pay jump to $18,898 after the first elimination on Day 3. However, all 48 players are looking for the first-place prize of $938,244 and the WSOP gold bracelet.
For now, two Brazilian players are the closest for the bracelet, as they are both in the lead with more than 3,000,000 chips. Vitor Dzivielevski has the biggest stack for now with 3,425,000 chips. Pedro Garagnani is on his heels with 3,220,000.

2 | Pedro Garagnani | Brazil | 3,220,000 | 129 |
3 | Cody Jones | United States | 2,855,000 | 114 |
4 | Chuanshu Chen | China | 2,520,000 | 101 |

9 | Danny Tang | Hong Kong | 1,940,000 | 78 |
10 | Omar Lakhdari | Algeria | 1,845,000 | 74 |
Among all players left, one-third of the field is looking for another bracelet, such as Norbert Szecsi (2,345,000), Georgios Sotiropoulos (1,960,000), 2023 $50,000 Super High Roller winner Leon Sturm (1,690,000), Day 1 chip leader Yuliyan Kolev (1,540,000), Ryan Leng (1,425,000), Scott Seiver (615,000), and David "Bakes" Baker (400,000).
On the other hand, Omar Lakhdari (1,845,000), Nozomu Shimizu (1,440,000), Ren Lin (1,145,000), Fabrice Bigot (965,000), and Artur Martirosian (745,000) will try to win their first WSOP title.
First, they'll have to be one of the five players remaining; the five who'll come back on Day 4. To do so, they'll play as many 60-minute levels as needed, with the action resuming on Level 21 (blinds: 10,000/25,000 and a 25,000 big blind ante). There will also be 15-minute breaks every 2 levels and a 60-minute dinner break after Level 26.
Stay tuned as the PokerNews live reporting team brings you all of the action!

With 9 blinds, Sung Joo Hyun moved all in on the very first hand of the day and was called by Pedro Garagnani.
Sung Joo Hyun: K♦6♦
Pedro Garagnani: 7♦7♥
It was bad timing for Sung Joo Hyun, who could only hope for a king or a flush. But the board Q♠2♥8♦4♦4♣ did not improve his hand, even though he had a flush draw on the turn. He finished in 48th place, winning $16,261.

Action was picked up on the flop. Players were heads up, the board read A♣10♦9♠ and there was about 135,000 in the middle. Michael Colbert checked from the big blind and Yuliyan Kolev fired a continuation bet of 65,000. Colbert check-raised to 145,000 and Kolev made the call.
Colbert bet 250,000 on the Q♥ turn and forced a fold from the Day 1 Chip Leader.

Jeremy Saderne came back on Day 3 with only 25,000 chips. With this single blind, he could only hope for another player to be out before him. That's what happened, so straight after Sung Joo Hyun's elimination, he went all in from under the gun. Seated on his left, Cody Jones raised, and nobody else called.
Jeremy Saderne: A♦6♥
Cody Jones: Q♠Q♦
"I have a good feeling about the six," said Saderne after the flop 6♦4♥9♠. But it was a wrong feeling as the 2♦ and the 7♥ came on the turn and the river. Even though he was eliminated, Saderne was happy to take the pay jump to $18,898.

Sami Bechahed opened to 50,000 from the button and Douglas Ferreira three-bet to 145,000. Bechahed responded by moving all in for 785,000 sending Ferreira deep into the tank.
After about four minutes a player called the clock on Ferreira, who made the call not long after to put Bechahed at risk.
Sami Bechahed: A♠Q♦
Douglas Ferreira: A♥J♣
Bechahed was in good shape to double up with a bigger ace. The 9♠8♥8♦ flop was safe for his ace-queen but the J♦ on the turn left him drawing to three outs. The river came the 6♥ and Bechahed was sent to the rail early while Ferreira collected a sizable pot.

Leon Sturm opened to 50,000 from under the gun and Naoki Matsumoto clicked it back to 100,000 from the button. Sturm made the call.
The flop came J♦4♣8♥ and Sturm check-called a 25,000 continuation bet from Matsumoto. Both players checked the K♠ turn.
On the Q♣ river Sturm fired a 250,000 bet. After about a minute of deliberation Matsumoto made the call.
Sturm tabled A♥7♥ for a bluff and Matsumoto showed Q♦10♦ for second pair to take the pot down.
