Event #81: $600 Ultra Stack
Giorno 2 completo
Play has drawn to a close on Day 2 of Event #81: $600 Ultra Stack at the 2023 World Series of Poker. When the last hand had been dealt at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, it was John Fagg who sat at the top of the chip counts, bagging a whopping 91,000,000 in chips for his hard work.
Fagg has more than $530,000 in live tournament earnings, an impressive sum helped by a deep run in the $400 Colossus at the 2023 WSOP. The man from Indiana captured a WSOP Circuit ring in 2022, which came with a career-best score of $156,041. He is now in the mix for more WSOP hardware and a new career high.

Some 555 hopefuls started the penultimate day already in the money but eyeing the top prize of $410,250. However, a tumultuous day of action scythed that number down to just nine players who will return on Day 3 on July 14.
Benjamin Spragg was an early casualty of the day, and among the other notables who fell by the wayside included Ashley Frank, Kathy Liebert, Ian Steinman, and Mark Radoja.
The final nine will return to the table on July 14 at 1:00 p.m. local time and play down to a winner. Play will begin at Level 40, with blinds of 1,000,000/2,000,000 and a 2,000,000 big blind ante.
Levels will last 40 minutes, and there will be 15-minute breaks every three levels, with a dinner break at a yet-to-be-determined time.

Shane Rose got the last of his chips in the middle preflop and was looked up by the likes of Min Sung Lee.
Shane Rose: J♣7♥
Ming Sung Lee: K♣Q♣
Rose at least had two live cards going to the flop, but it became a long road for him as the board scrolled across 8♠2♠Q♠. Lee flopped top pair and since neither player had a spade in their hand, Rose was hoping for a combination of running jacks or sevens.
It wasn't sunshine for Rose, as the turn and river rolled off the 3♣ and 6♣ and he had to settle for 10th place.

The board ran out Q♦7♦5♥J♥5♠. Tae's hold to find an important double late on Day 2.

Heads up to a flop of A♠10♥9♥, Joseph Roh placed a bet of 5,000,000 and a short stacked Scott Bohlman pushed the rest of his chips in the middle, receiving a quick call.
Scott Bohlman: 10♠4♠
Joseph Roh: A♣J♣
Roh's pair of aces was well in front of the pair of the tens of Bohlman, with no change on the turned Q♥.
Bohlman needed to catch a ten or a four to pull ahead but it wasn't meant to be as the 9♣ peeled on the river.
The 2018 Bracelet winner of the $2,500 Mixed Big Bet ($122,138) was worried his name had been forgotten and was looking to etch his name in stone with a second bracelet but will have to settle for 11th place in this event.

In late position, Chris O'Neil went pseudo all in, leaving himself just a few chips behind and was shoved on by the the commanding stack of Joseph Roh when it folded to him in the blind. O'Neil craned his neck, likely to see if he had a chance of making a pay jump, and when he realized it was to no avail, he made the call.
Chris O'Neil: A♠8♣
Joseph Roh: 3♠3♦
The flop fanned out Q♠9♠7♥, keeping Roh in the lead but adding some back door draws for O'Neil. The turn brought both of those draws with the 6♠, but it seemed O'Neil's luck came to an end as the 4♣ peeled on the river.
O'Neil wished his opponents good luck, let them know it was a good game, and then headed towards the payout desk.
