Juanda Goes Runner Runner to Miraculously Stay in the Hall of Fame Bounty

Livello 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

John Juanda was forced all in from the big blind, with 3,000 of his stack going to the big blind ante and 2,000 as his big blind. Every player on the table limped, hoping for a piece of the Juanda's $2,015 bounty.

Juanda joked "Shall I book my Uber now?" as the flop came 1033 and the player in early position bet 6,000 and was called by middle position. The small blind check-raised to 27,000 and that bet forced everyone else to fold.

John Juanda J8
Small Blind: Q3

Juanda was in rough shape as the small blind flopped trip three's and would require running cards to stay in the tournament. The 7 produced oohs and aahs from the table as it gave Juanda a gutshot.

The 9 on the river caused an eruption of noise as Juanda made the straight to stay in the competition and deny the small blind his bounty.

Do You Know Which Poker Player Just Set the Record of Cashing Seven Consecutive Live WSOP Main Events?

Livello 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

The 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) was the largest in history with 10,043 players, and for one player it proved to be a record-extending affair. From 2010-14, poker pro Ronnie Bardah cashed the WSOP Main Event a record five times, which was recognized on various ESPN broadcasts. However, that record seems to have fallen by the wayside as first brought to light by @TARKPOKER on Twitter.

You see, one player has managed to cash the WSOP Main Event, at least the live version, a record seven consecutive times (2016-23). The pandemic threw a monkey wrench into things in 2020 with the WSOP concocting an online-live hybrid Main Event, so technically this player didn’t cash every year. However, he has cashed the last seven live Main Events, an unrivaled accomplishment.

David Peters

A player in late position raised to 5,000 and David Peters moved all in for 30,000 from the button, with the late position player making the call.

David Peters: A8
Late Position Player: QQ

Peters needed to play catch up against the late position player's queens and the 82J flop opened the door to additional outs for Peters.

The 10 on the turn wasn't much help, but the 8 on the river vaulted Peters into the lead with trips and secured the double.
