Event #16: $5,000 8-Handed No-Limit Hold'em
Giorno 1 completo
It was another exciting day at the 2024 World Series of Poker where Event #16: $5,000 No Limit Hold’em has concluded play for the day at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. From 660 entrants so far, 239 players remain.
Two chip stacks stand out at the conclusion of Day 1. Clemen Deng from Portland bagged 554,000. Meanwhile, Daniel Auckland from Seattle is closely trailing with 540,000. Auckland got his start in poker by winning a few local daily tournaments and he says he hopes he can parlay that luck into something special this summer.
$25K Fantasy Draft player Bin Weng sits within the top ten chip stacks at the conclusion of the first day of play. With 343,500 in chips, he's has had his share of bluffs and luck in this event.

Meanwhile the likes of Andrew Moreno, Chance Kornuth, and Erik Seidel were unable to survive the lengthy day.
Hands to remember from today’s action included the runout that saw Shaun Deeb eliminated by Omar Saeed and lots of aggression from four-time WSOP champion Adrian Mateos.
Players played a full ten levels today, so the remaining players will return at 1 p.m. on Wednesday to Level 11 with blinds at 1,000/2,500 and a 2,500 big blind ante. The prize pool for this event will be confirmed tomorrow as registration continues one level into Day 2.

Play has concluded for the night. Chip Counts and recap to follow momentarily.
On a board reading 3♦Q♦9♠Q♠. Aaron Massey called the bet of 12,000 from Daniyal Gheba to go to the river, which was the 9♦.
The action went check-check. Massey said, "You got it," before flipping over the Qx10x for what was very likely the best hand as he admitted to a mild slow roll of Gheba, which Massey said was payback for something before the two players shared a lighthearted moment.

"Want to see it?" asked Weng. "No," replied his opponent immediately. But Weng showed the cards to the two players next to him anyway and then flashed them to the reporter watching the hand before finally tabling them, the 10♣4♠, for a complete bluff, and he gathered even more chips to his stack.
