As can be expected with a 20-minute turbo blind structure, the action was hot and heavy all day, as players fell to the wayside one after another. Names like David Peters, Josh Arieh, JC Tran, Mike Matusow, Christoph Vogelsang, and Cary Katz all took their shots today but sadly could not make a deep run.

On the other hand, players who did manage to get far were Calvin Anderson (24th- $19,407), Martin Jacobson (19th-$23,266), and Ian Matakis (11th-$35,519). For a while, it looked like defending champ Phil Hellmuth (15th-$28,463) was poising himself for back-to-back titles, but alas, he fell to Scotland’s Ludovic Geilich when Geilich’s rivered flush crushed Hellmuth’s flopped pair.

Connor Rash Eliminated in 12th Place ($28,463)

Steve Buell moved all in preflop and action folded to Connor Rash in the big blind who called for less to put himself at risk.

Connor Rash: AQAll in
Steve Buell: 88

Buell was ahead going into the flip with his pocket eights, and the flop of 844 couldn't get much better as he flopped a full house. Only running fours, aces or queens would keep Rash alive, but the turn 5 quickly dashed those hopes while the river 6 sent him to the rail in 12th place.
