Matthias De Meulder Chipping Up

Livello 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

On a board of {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{K-Spades}{8-Spades} Matthias De Meulder led out for a bet of 4,500. After some pondering, the bet was called by Silveira Recife. After the {4-Hearts} fell on the river, De Meulder sat thinking for roughly a minute before moving out a stack of 11,300 into the middle. Recife snap-called but was disappointed to find De Meulder flip over {6-Spades}{4-Spades} for a winning spade flush.

This pot brings De Meulder up to around 63,000 in chips.

Hand Worthy of a Movie

Livello 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Table 370 waved us over to see the aftermath of a huge hand. The UTG player opened, Suleiman Abueid made it 7,500 and Daniel Smith shoved. The UTG player folded and Abueid called.

Showdown:
Abueid: {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs}
Smith: {J-Diamonds} {J-Spades}

The flop fell {A-Spades} {J-Clubs} {4-Clubs} giving both players a set. The turn came {J-Hearts} giving Smith quads and Abueid the unfortunate aces full of jacks full house. Abueid needed the one outer on the river but it fell {Q-Spades}. Smith is up to 76,000.

Recife Gets There

Livello 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Although Silveira Recife had just 22,000 left when it was folded to him on the button, he had both the small blind and big blind covered. He moved all in and the big blind, Erik Torgersen, called with about 11,000 behind.

Recife: {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}
Torgersen: {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The flop came {Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} which gave Recife a lead in the hand but he still wasn't a huge favorite. Recife needed to dodge a heart and an ace to eliminate Torgersen. The turn was the {6-Spades} and the river was the {J-Clubs}. Recife has chipped up to 36,000 while adding a notch on his belt.

Malaguti Gets Rivered

Livello 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

After a preflop all in by Flamino Malaguti and a call by Ganesh Letchumanan, the cards were turned over and Malaguti was looking good for a double up as his {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} was well ahead of the {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} of Letchumanan.

The flop of {K-Spades}{J-Hearts}{5-Hearts} was safe for Malaguti, as was the {10-Spades} on the turn. Unfortunately for Malaguti, Letchumanan spiked his two outer on the river in the form of the {6-Spades} and Malaguti was sent packing. Letchumanan is up to 34,000 after scooping that pot.

Martin Sends Pimenta Packing

Livello 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Kenneth Martin opened the action from early position with a raise to 3,000. Caio Cesar Pimenta flatted from the button and Pascal LeFrancois also called from the big blind.

The flop came {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and the first two players checked to Pimenta who fired 4,300. LeFrancois folded and Martin asked Pimenta for a full count of his stack. "About 30 behind," Pimenta responded, referring to having 30,000 chips.

"Ok, I'm all in," Martin told him. Martin had him slightly covered and Pimenta squirmed in his seat for a few minutes before announcing a call. Martin flipped over {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts} and was ahead of Pimenta's {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for our second such situation of the day. The turn was the {5-Spades} and the river was the {4-Hearts}. Although both players boated up, it would be Martin busting Pimenta just before the bubble to chip him up to 75,000.

Lakhitov Wins Large Pot

Livello 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Mikhail Lakhitov and Jerry Wong built a pot north of 10,000 by the turn. The board read {A-Spades} {7-Spades} {K-Hearts} {10-Hearts} and Lakhitov check-called 2,800 to see the river {Q-Spades}. Lakhitov took a moment and then bet 7,800 and Wong called. Lakhitov showed {A-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} for the straight and Wong mucked.

Lots of Action at Table 361

Livello 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The day started with lots of aggression at table 361, as we caught up with Daniel Ivers pushing all in preflop, only to have Gevork Kasabyan immediately shove all in over the top. The rest of the table folded and the two tabled their cards:

Kasabyan: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Ivers: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

The board fell {Q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Ivers doubled up to around 13,000. This hand knocked knocked Kasabyan down to around 8,000 and left him in all-in mode.

A couple of hands later, the intense action continued, as Kasabyan decided once again to risk his tournament life preflop by shoving all in for his last 8,000. Eric Ladny called but was surprised to find David Gutfreund push all in over the top for 9,500 more. Although he didn't seem happy about it, Ladny eventually announced call.

Ladny: {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Kasabyan: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Gutfreund: {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}

The board ran out {3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and the jacks of Gutfreund held up, allowing him to triple up and bust Kasabyan in the process.
