Late Reg-aments

Livello 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

There are about a half-dozen late-registration tables in play, and they're pretty tough.

At one of the tables sits Antonio Esfandiari, Nenad Medic, Jason Young, Anthony Newman, Kevin Eyster, and Brent Hanks.

Adjacent to them is a table with Vanessa Peng, Jason Potter, Lex Veldhuis, and Brandon Cantu.

A couple tables over there's another tough one with Mohsin Charania, Kyle Bowker, Josh Arieh, and Vladimir Geshkenbein.

And finally, we see Jon Aguiar, Andrew Lichtenberger, and Ivan Demidov all together, too.

Not Andy Black's Day

Livello 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

During a four-way flop with a {j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} board, there was a bet, call and fold to Andy Black. He jokingly said to Mark Schmid and McLean Karr, the two remaining players in the hand, "I'm going to let you ladies go at it," before mucking his cards. The hand was played out without anymore words exchanged between the players and Schmid ended up winning a pot worth about 2,200 chips.

Tim West, however, was not happy with Black's antics. He voiced his displeasure to Black about his comments and made it clear that he didn't want Black to act like that when he (West) was involved in a hand. Black seemed a little surprised and after West left for break, approached Karr to sort things out.

One Pair is a Go For Ho

Livello 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

After a flop of {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{4-Diamonds}, the player under the gun bet 475 and Maria Ho called from the button. Both women checked when the {9-Clubs} fell on the turn and the river brought the {8-Clubs}. The first player checked again and Ho bet 650. The other player called and Ho showed her {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades} which was good enough to take the pot.

Ho now has 9,400 in her stack with no rebuy chips behind. Her table will definitely be one to watch today as it also contains Kevin Saul and Melanie Weisner.

To Patch or Not To Patch

Livello 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

Without question, the majority of the table talk in the room surrounds the big announcement today regarding the suspension of Full Tilt Poker's operating license by the AGCC. If you're out of the loop, have a look at the article here. And don't feel bad for being out of the loop because you're definitely not the only one.

Over in the White section, we eavesdropped on a conversation between Andy Black (who is a Full Tilt Red Pro) and McLean Karr. Karr and the rest of the table were inquiring why Black was still patched up today, and he looked confused. He thought they were talking about the lingering non-payment issue for a moment, and he began to passively defend his sponsor.

"But you don't even have a company anymore," Karr said.

"Huh?" was the look on Black's face. He hadn't caught up on today's news yet, and it threw a bit of an uncomfortable wrench into to the conversation. Black is still patched up -- and he's not alone in that -- but it's about 50/50 right now in the room. We see Black, David Benyamine, Scott Clements, James Dempsey, and Peter Feldman patched up, while Claudio Rinaldi, Erica Schoenberg, John Dolan, and John Racener are not.

It's also noteworthy to see that the entire roster of Team PokerStars Pros is proudly patched up with both their site's and their country's decal.

Gill Trips His Opponent

After a flop of {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, Carter Gill bet 1,100 and his opponent went all in for a total of 3,000. Gill opted to call and the hands were revealed.

Gill: {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Opponent: {k-Spades}{j-Spades}

The other player was drawing slim to Gill's trip tens. The turn brought the {4-Hearts} and the river was the {a-Clubs} which couldn't help the other player. After the hand Gill had 13,000 in his stack with no rebuy chips behind and the other player was forced to use one of his rebuy chips.

Black Chips Up

Livello 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

A player in middle position opened the pot with a raise to 250 and Andy Black, sitting to his immediate left, called. The player on the button three-bet to 1,000 and only Black called.

The flop was {5-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{a-Spades} and both players checked. The turn was the {k-Hearts} and Black checked to his opponent again. After some thought, 1,300 chips were placed in the middle and Black immediately announced he was all in. His opponent quickly let go of his cards and Black raked in the pot.

Black now has 18,000.

Two Pair vs. Two Pair

With the board already reading {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, Jason Somerville bet 625 from the big blind and was called by the player in the cutoff. The river brought the {2-Diamonds} and Somerville bet out again, this time for 1,825. The cutoff called again and their hands were revealed.

Somerville: {a-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Cutoff: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

The cutoff's two pair was best and he took the pot. After the hand Somerville was left with 10,000 in his stack and had no rebuy chips remaining.
