The action folded to Ahuja on the button and he looked down at 8♥8♦. Ahuja then raised to 3,700,000, leaving 325,000 behind.

The player in the small blind folded, leaving Girish Reknar to act. Reknar held A♥3♥ and appeared to agonize over the decision. He went in the tank, rubbing his hands together, and looking down at his chips.

Reknar eventually folded and revealed A♥ to the table.

Korn's Check-Raise Gets the Job Done

Valentino Konakchiev opened to 525,000 from under the gun holding A♥10♦ and found a call from Andres Korn in the big blind holding the K♣5♣.

The flop came 6♥Q♣5♦ and Korn started with a check. Konakchiev continued with a bet of 475,000 which was met with a check-raise from Korn to 1,125,000.

With action back on him, Konakchiev decided not to commit anymore chips to this hand and tossed his cards toward the muck.

Two Pair Versus Two Pair

Ankit Ahuja raised from the under-the-gun position to 525,000 holding the K♣6♣ and got called by Andres Korn from the button holding K♥10♦ and Ruben Costa in the big blind holding the 9♠7♠.

The flop came down 10♥6♦A♦ and Costa quickly checked to Ahuja who quickly checked to Korn.

Korn opted to bet out 775,000. Costa folded and Ahuja, with the flopped pair of sixes, decided on a call to see the 8♠.

Both players checked through to see the K♠ river, giving both players two pair.

Ahuja checked to Korn who bet out 1,675,000 and Ahuja quickly called only to see the bad news that his two pair was second best.

Konakchiev then check-raised 1,200,000, which prompted Costa to shut down and fold.

Reard Turns Better Versus Korn

Korn checked to Reard, who opted for a bet of 325,000. Korn called, and both players saw a turn of J♠.

Korn checked again, and Reard continued with another bet in the amount of 600,000.

Korn quickly slid his cards toward the muck and conceded the pot to Reard.

Costa’s Aces Take Down Pot Before Flop

Girish Reknar raised with J♥J♦ to 500,000 in early position, and Valentino Konakchiev called with A♥10♥.

Ruben Costa looked down at A♣A♠ and raised the action to 2,930,000, leaving approximately 2,000,000 behind.

Reknar went in the tank, looking down the table at Konakchiev and Costa. He then folded, and Konakchiev followed suit.

Reknar told his tablemates that he folded pocket jacks, an admission that drew amazement.

“Good fold,” Costa said without revealing his hand.

Aggression Wins for Konakchiev

Alexandre Reard raised from under the gun to 400,000 holding the A♥Q♥ and action folded to Valentino Konakchiev who decided to cut out a three-bet of 950,000 with K♣Q♦.

The remaining players to act folded the action back to Konakchiev who decided on a call.

The flop came down 3♦9♣2♣ and Reard started off with a check to which Konakchiev responded by betting 600,000.

Reard decided to call and head to a 8♠ turn card on which Reard checked again.

Konakchiev opted to continue with another bet totalling 1,200,000 which got the fold from the better hand of Reard and the dealer pushed the pot to Konakchiev.

Reard Gets Aggressive in Consecutive Hands

That’s the line Alexandre Reard appeared to take after raising in position in consecutive hands. It didn’t work on the previous hand when he raised on the button, only to be pushed out by Andres Korn’s three-bet out of the big blind.

But the WSOP bracelet winner got it done on the very next hand.

Reard raised to 450,000 from the cutoff with A♠8♣, and saw the button and small blind fold. Valentino Konakchiev was in the big blind and defended with 9♣6♣.

The flop saw 9♠A♠Q♥ on the board, which Konakchiev checked. Korn bet 325,000 and Konakchiev called. The turn produced 10♦ and another check from Konakchiev.

With the door open, Korn fired 550,000 in the pot to force his opponent to fold.
