Qiang Xu will lead the 11 returning players headed back to Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas today to play down to a winner in Event #19: $2,500 No-Limit Hold 'Em Freezeout at the 2023 World Series of Poker.
If Xu can close it out, he'll take home the first-place prize of $435,924 along with his first WSOP gold bracelet but with Alexandre Reard (4,800,000), Andres Korn (4,760,000) and Niall Farrell (1,700,000) all looking to add their second bracelet to their wrist, it will be no easy task.

Cards are in the air as 11 players remain to kick off Day 3 with blinds starting at 50,000/100,000 and a 100,000 ante.
Valentino Konakchiev entered Day 3 with the eighth-most chips in play (2,475,000), but he quickly added chips as Level 28 began.
On the first hand, he raised 200,000 in early position. Timothy Miles in the big blind and Girish Reknar in the big blind called.
The dealer placed 2♦8♥Q♣ on the board, which drew checks from Reknar and Konakchiev. Miles bet 250,000 in position, and received calls from both players.
The turn saw 3♣, which all three players checked. The river produced 6♠, once again drawing checks before showdown, and the cards were tabled in order.
Girish Reknar: J♣2♣
Valentino Konakchiev: A♦8♠
Timothy Miles: (mucked)
Two hands later, Konakchiev took down a pot with aggression. Miles raised 200,000 in position, drawing a call from Alexandre Reard in the small blind. Konakchiev three-bet the action out of the big blind to 525,000, resulting in folds from his opponents.

Qiang Xu opened to 200,000 before calling a three-bet from Ankit Ahuja in the small blind and both took a flop of 10♦5♥J♦.
Ahuja checked-called a bet of 200,000 from Xu and the pair went to a turn card of the 7♣. Action checked through to see a river card that was the J♠. Ahuja checked to Xu who opted on an over-bet totaling 1,325,000.
Ahuja thought for a moment before sliding calling chips into the pot and Xu quickly turned over K♦J♣ for three jacks, prompting Ahuja to slide his cards into the muck as Xu collected the pot.

Byung Eun Shin was the shortest stack on Day 3, and he made a move to double up.
Shin raised under the gun to 200,000 but was met by Timothy Miles’ three-bet of 500,000. Action folded back to Shin, who moved all in and Miles snap-called.
Byung Eun Shin: A♦4♦
Timothy Miles: K♦K♣
Shin was behind before the flop and a 5♦9♥7♠ board, but 2♠ on the turn gave him a gut-shot draw to the river. He hit the runner-runner when 3♥ appeared, giving him a wheel and a double up.

Qiang Xu raised to 200,000 in the cutoff only to see Andres Korn three-bet to 550,000 from the button. Xu put in the call and both players were off to a A♦8♠Q♥ flop.
Xu checked and Korn put out a bet of 225,000. Xu called and sent the pair to the 10♥ turn card.
Xu checked again and again called a bet from Korn, this time in the amount of 575,000.
The river card came the 9♦ and both players checked through before Korn turned over the A♥2♦, besting the K♠10♣ of Xu to take down the pot.

Korn stacked up 2,325,000 worth of chips into a single tower and slid them into the pot. Xu quickly tossed in a single chip representing a call and Korn immediately tabled the A♦K♦ for Broadway.
Xu shook his head, counted out the chips to pay off Korn and slid his cards toward the muck.
