Xu Pays Off Korn in Massive Pot

Livello 28 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

On a completed board reading Q7710J, Qiang Xu checked to Andres Korn.

Korn stacked up 2,325,000 worth of chips into a single tower and slid them into the pot.

Xu quickly tossed in a single chip representing a call and Korn immediately tabled the AK for the nuts.

Xu shook his head, counted out the chips to pay off Korn and slid his cards toward the muck.

Miles Doubles Up, Gets Chips Back from Shin

Livello 28 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

A few hands after doubling up through Timothy Miles, Byung Eun Shin attempted to take more chips from his opponent.

After the action folded to the blinds, Shin moved all in out of the small blind against Timothy Miles, who was in the big blind and had 950,000 in front of him.

Miles immediately called to put his tournament life at stake, and the cards were tabled.

Timothy Miles: K5
Byung Eun Shin: 108

The dealer fanned 324A7 on the board, leaving Miles’ king ahead and giving him the double up.

Xu Suddenly the Short Stack at the Table

Livello 29 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

On a flop of 8J10, Ankit Ahuja checked to Qiang Xu who put in a bet of 200,000. Ahuja thought for a moment before check-raising to 850,000.

Xu tanked for a moment then responded with a raise to 2,000,000. Ahuja went all in for not much more and Xu called to send the two players to a run out.

Ankit Ahuja: QQ
Qiang Xu: AJ

The turn card was the 9, giving Ahuja the straight and leaving Xu with only the two remaining queens as outs for a chop pot.

The inconsequential J fell on the river and with that, Ahuja secured a massive double as Xu moved down to the shortest stack at the table.

Reard Spikes Set

Livello 29 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

WSOP bracelet winner Alexandre Reard raised on the button, and was called by Byung Eun Shin, who was in the big blind.

The dealer placed 98J on the board, which Shin checked and Reard bet. Shin eventually called. The turn produced 5, which once again saw Shin check out of position. Reard bet 600,000, which Shin called.

The 4 appeared on the river, which both players checked.

Reard tabled 99, giving him middle set. Shin flashed KJ to Reard before tossing them in the muck.

Shin on Fumes

Livello 29 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Byung Eun Shin, who has run into obstacles in Level 29 and losing chips, moved all in in the small blind and Timothy Miles in the big blind immediately called.

Timothy Miles: KK
Byung Eun Shin: KJ

The dealer fanned out 3Q275, giving Miles a 2,000,000 pot.

This marked the second time of Day 3 that Shin ran into Miles’ kings. Shin won early for a double up, but this time didn’t work out for him and he’s left with less than three big blinds.

Xu Doubles in Huge Preflop All In

Livello 29 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Action folded to Ankit Ahuja in the cutoff who opened to 250,000 After the button folded, Qiang Xu shoved the small blind for 1,500,000.

Andres Korn didn't waste much time before announcing all in from the big blind and with action back on Ahuja, he went deep into the tank.

Agonizing over the decision, Ahuja wanted floor staff to give him a rough estimate of the shortest stack at the other remaining table but that request was quickly shot down as the floor walked away from the table.

A few minutes later, Korn requested that the floor return so that he could call the clock on Ahuja.

As the countdown began, Ahuja seemed no closer to making his decision as he agonized over what to do. Time expired without Ahuja having made a decision and his hand was declared dead.

The players turned up their cards and headed to a run out.

Qiang Xu: 8x8
Andres Korn: AK

The board ran out Q9787 and Xu secured over a full double.

Ahuja revealed that he had folded QxQx in a really tough ICM spot and lamented the "worst possible result" having played out.

Byung Eun Shin Eliminated in 11th Place ($26,926)

Livello 29 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Byung Eun Shin
Byung Eun Shin

Level 29 wasn’t kind to Byung Eun Shin, who had 30,000 behind by the time he posted the big blind and ante.

He watched as Timothy Miles raised 250,000 before the flop and then Valentino Konakchiev called in the small blind. Shin shrugged his shoulders and put his remaining chips in.

The dealer fanned KJ10, which Konakchiev and Miles checked. The 7 appeared on the turn, prompting checks from Konakchiev and Miles. The dealer then placed 5 on the river, which Konakchiev bet and Miles folded. The cards were then tabled:

Byung Eun Shin: J2
Valentino Konakchiev: J9

Konakchiev’s 9 kicker played to eliminate Shin in 11th place for $26,926.
