Event #30: $1,500 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw
Giorno 1 completo
Day 1 of Event #30: $1,500 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw has come to an end with Jason Gola in the lead after bagging 221,500 in chips through 15 levels of play here at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. Not too far off the mark is four-time WSOP bracelet winner John Monnette, who will bring 189,000 with him into Day 2.
Gola was the only player to break the 200,000 chip mark, and he has one WSOP bracelet to his name, which he won back in 2017 after defeating David "ODB" Baker heads-up in a $1,500 Razz event. He is currently in prime position to make a deep run and add to his $239,524 in WSOP tournament earnings to date.

Day 1 drew a total of 522 players, far surpassing last year’s total of 350 and continuing the trend of record-setting fields at the 2023 World Series of Poker. The field generated a $696,870 prize pool, with 79 players making the money. The eventual winner will take home $145,863, and a min-cash will be worth $2,405.
The Day 1 field was packed with poker talent and notables, which is a common occurrence in poker’s less mainstream events. Some other notables who bagged up and will continue their run into Day 2 include Chris Vitch (144,000), Randy Ohel (84,000), Benny Glaser (126,500), Dan Shak (115,500), Allen Kessler (112,000), Scott Bohlman (115,500), and online poker legend Viktor Blom (88,500)
Some less fortunate included Daniel Negreanu, Farah Galfond, Jon Turner, Terrence Chan, Ben Yu, Bryce Yockey, David "ODB" Baker, and 2015 Main Event champion Joe McKeehen, who busted late in the day after nursing a short stack most of the day and running into the eight-six of Bradley Butcher.
Play is set to resume on June 13 at 1:00 p.m. local time. Day 2 will feature 60-minute levels, and a total of ten levels will be played. A 60-minute dinner break will be held at the end of level 21.

The tournament director has just announced each table will play three more hands until bagging and tagging for the night.
Stay tuned for a recap of Day 1.
A player in the cutoff bet and received one call from Dan Zack in the small blind. Both players drew two for the first draw.
Zack check-called a bet from his opponent and drew two again while the player in the cutoff drew one.
After the second draw Zack again check-called a bet from his opponent. He then drew one while his opponent drew one.
With no draws left Zack bet into his opponent who quickly called.
Zack tabled 7x5x4x3x2x for the best possible hand and took down a nice pot.

Jon Turner was all in on the button against Chris Hundley in the small blind and Ben Cichocki in the hijack.
Both Hundley and Cichocki stood pat and Turner drew two on the final draw.
Action checked down on the final betting round and Cichocki tabled 8x7x6x5x2x. Hundley mucked and Turner flipped over an ace-low — sending him to the rail just before the end of Day 1.

Action was picked up with players heads up just before the first draw. Maria Ho drew one from the cutoff and her opponent in the big blind drew two.
After the first draw the big blind check-called a bet from Ho. Both players drew one for the second draw.
The big blind took the initiative after the second draw with a bet which was called by Ho. Both players stood pat for the final draw.
The big blind checked with no draws left and Ho fired another bet. The big blind thought about his decision for about 10 seconds before making the fold.
