DeMaci Picks Up a Pot

Livello 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

Chris DeMaci raised to 150 preflop and found a caller in the player from the button. Mstr Lynch reraised to 525 and both DeMaci and the other opponent called.

The flop ran out {j-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. All players checked the flop. The turn brought the {7-Hearts} and everyone checked again. The {q-Clubs} hit on the river and DeMaci led out with 450. Mstr Lynch and the other player folded.

DeMaci now sits with a little above the starting chip stack.

Dunst Might Have Gotten Away With One

We found Tony Dunst betting 200 on a {2-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} flop into his opponent in early position. His opponent declared "I really want to see your cards, and I am going to call you the whole way to do so", he then went on to make the call.

On a {3-Diamonds} turn Dunst bet out 700, and again his opponent started talking about how much he wanted to see Dunst's cards, and made the call.

The {3-Hearts} river let Dunst put out a bet that would have put his opponent all in for around 2,000 in chips. His opponent who eventually folded, but was nice enough to show the table a {J-} for a pair of jacks before he did so. Apparently he did not want to see what Dunst was holding.

The Guy to the Right of Esfandiari Thinks

Livello 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

If you are lucky enough to have Antonio Esfandiari at your table, you know you are in for a fun day win or lose. He always finds a way to get interesting conversation started and make the table enjoyable for everyone. Today, he is mixing it up with a game of Lodden thinks.

For those of you who don't know this game, here is the readers digest version. Player A and Player B decide on a question for which they want a line set. For example, "How many players will register for todays tournament?" However, they don't win or lose based on the actual answer. Instead, they bet on what Player C believes the answer to be. Player A and Player B then take guesses in ascending order until one thinks the number is too high. If Player A says 3,000 and player B says 3,100, Player A can buy that number and takes 1 through 3,099 while player B gets 3,100 and above. If Player C thought that 2,850 would register, Player A wins, even if 3,200 actually register.

Johnny Lodden, for whom the game bears its name, is not available to be Player C, but a kind gentleman in the 2 seat was up to the task. The question was, "How many days would the 4 seat take off the end of his life to have control over the celebrity of his choice for one week?" Esfandiari and his opponent took a couple of hands to slowly increase the number. What started as 2 days became a week, then a month, then four months and finally Esfandiari bought his opponents guess of one year. The 2 seat announced he had guessed six months and Esfandiari screamed "Ship the Sherbert!"

Merwick Chips Up

Livello 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

On the {J-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Spades}, Joel Merwick checked and the next player bet 400. A third player in the hand called and then action fell back on Merwick. He check-raised to 1,200. The original bettor folded and the flat-caller made the call.

The river completed the board with the {7-Clubs} and Merwick fired 1,750. His opponent folded and Merwick chipped up to 6,500 in chips.

Freeroll?

Livello 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

From middle position, Andrew Chen raised to 150. Action folded to the player in the hijack seat and he reraised to 625. Play got back to Chen and he moved all in for 3,550.

"How much is it?" asked the player.

"Thirty-five, fifty," responded the dealer.

"I call."

Chen: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}

The flop came down {10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Chen's opponent said, "I'm freerolling," in a serious tone. We're unclear as to what he meant or if he was really just joking with the comment, because it was Chen who had the only diamond and a freeroll to win the hand.

The turn was the {5-Hearts} and the river the {7-Spades}, causing the two players to chop up the pot.

West Doubles Short Stack Early

We found Tim West min-raising under the gun making it 100 total, when a short stack at his table moved all in for 400 chips. West made the call and cards were tabled.

Tim West: {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
Short Stack: {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}

Players were off to the races as it was basically a coin flip going to the flop. {J-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{10-Clubs} made for a very pleasing flop for the short stack player. The turn-river were also good to him as they came out {7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. The short stack player was able to double up with a pair of aces.

West barely lost anything and is still above average stack with over 8,000 in chips

Gross Granted Some Chips Early

When we found Steve Gross he just happened to be putting out a bet of 2,025 on a {K-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{K-Spades}{3-Hearts} board. We don't know what the action was before the river, but we can assume there was a decent amount of betting going on because there were already a decent amount of chips in the pot.

His opponent eventually made the call and was surprised to find that Gross held {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} for two pair, aces and kings.
