"King High"

Erick Lindgren
Erick Lindgren

We found Taylor Paur raising from late position and when action folded to Erick Lindgren in the big blind he made the call. On a {Q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop Lindgren bet out 14,000. Paur made the call.

With a {5-Clubs} on the turn both player knuckled. The {5-Diamonds} on the river brought a repeat of action as both players checked again. When it was time to flipp cards Lindgren said "king high" and Paur flipped over {6-}{6-}.

Armstrong Gives It Up

Action folded to Jamie Armstrong in the cutoff and he put in a raise to 5,000. Both the button and small blind got out of the way, but Andrew Chen decided to move all in from the big blind for his last 45,800. Armstrong counted out some chips as if he were going to make the call, but thought better of it and tossed his cards to the muck.

Chen, who is short stacked, got a little boost.

Sabat Runs into Aces, Then Busts

On a {Q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{9-Hearts} board Michael Gagliano put out a 15,100 bet into Eddy Sabat. Sabat then made the call after some contemplation.

A river {10-Hearts} allowed Sabat to check and Gagliano to move all in for his remaining 36,000. Sabat measured out the chips and eventually threw them in the middle. Gagliano then flipped over {A-}{A-} for a pair of aces. After double checking his cards Sabat threw his cards in the muck.

Shortly thereafter, Sabat was eliminated by chip leader Dmitry Gromov.

Karr Uses Aggression to Inspired Bonyadi Fold

With 68,000 in the pot and a board reading {9-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}, McLean Karr moved all in for around 44,000 and put his sole opponent, Farzad Bonyadi, to the test. Bonyadi, who is shrouded in a black hoodie, thought for a moment before flicking his cards to the muck.

Karr is back over 100,000.

Fondacaro Finishes Hanks

Hanks, already with five, will have to wait for his sixth cash at this year's series.
Hanks, already with five, will have to wait for his sixth cash at this year's series.

After a series of raises, Brent Hanks was all in and at risk against Gregory Fondacaro. Hanks' black jacks were crushed by the {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} of Fondacaro, and did not improve as the board ran {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}.

Turn the Laak and Hide the Kids, the Red Baron is Here!

Isaac Baron, who possesses the largest stack in the room, recently raised to 5,600 from the cutoff only to have Phil "Unabomber" Laak three-bet to 17,400 from the button. The blinds got out of the way while Baron made the call. When the flop fell {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, Baron check-called a bet of 22,200 and the {9-Spades} appeared on the turn.

This time both players checked and watched the dealer put out the {K-Hearts} on the river. Baron lined up some chips and then committed 32,500 to the pot. The bet was enough to get Laak to fold without so much as a second thought.

Ulliott Up, Brikis Bounced

Brikis Busts
Brikis Busts

Three players saw a flop of {3-Spades}{j-Spades}{9-Spades} including Josh Brikis, Emil Patel, and Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott. Patel led for 9,600 from the small blind, Ulliott called, and Brikis moved all in for 60,800. Patel quickly folded, and Ulliott snapped it off.

Brikis: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Ulliott: {10-Spades}{8-Spades} (Holy blockers, Batman)

Brikis began gathering his things upon seeing Ulliott's cards.

"Where ya going, buddy?" Ulliott asked him.

The {j-Clubs} on the turn gave Brikis four extra outs to a full house, but the {7-Diamonds} bricked on the river, and he was eliminated. Brikis was out the door in a flash, and Ulliott is now above 200,000 chips.

Mason Doubles Through Gagliano

Michael Gagliano made it 4,500 to go preflop and when action folded around to Ashley Mason in the big blind he raised and made it 8,300. Gagliano then moved all in and was quickly called by Mason. Gagliano was by no means short stacked, he in fact had all of Mason's 80,000 some chips covered.

Mason: {A-}{K-}
Gagliano: {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

The dealer then put out five cards and they came out {4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Spades}. No one hit anything, but it was Mason's ace high that was awarded the pot.

"What a Sick Fade"

Jeremy Menard got his short-stack all in preflop holding {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and was up against the {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} of Elliot Smith. It was another flip, with the {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop coming down relatively safe for Menard; however, the {K-Diamonds} turn sure made things interesting. Suddenly Smith had flush, straight, counterfeit, and over outs to take down the pot.

Luckily for Menard, the {2-Spades} blanked on the river and he survived the hand. "What a sick fade," Menard said as he stacked the pot.
