The Reign of Reijmer

We don't know what the action was preflop, but we can assume that there was a raise and a call. When we did get to the table we saw Daniel Reijmer check-call a bet of 8,000 from Bjorn Verbakel.

On the {3-Spades} turn card both players knuckled and were granted access to the {4-Hearts} river where Reijmer came out and put 14,500 in the middle. After about two minutes of thinking it over Verbakel threw his cards away.

Pesek Demolishes Saul

We're not sure how the action went, but Michael Pesek ended up all in preflop holding {J-Spades}{J-Clubs} and was up against the {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} of Kevin Saul. It was another flip, but Pesek's jacks held as the board ran out {2-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades}. Pesek was pleased as punch to survive the hand while Saul was left with just 6,000.

In the very next hand, action folded to Saul in the small blind and he committed his stack and was called by Pesek in the big blind.

Pesek: {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Saul: {J-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}

Saul was ahead although he wasn't too excited. The {K-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop gave Pesek a gut-shot straight draw, which happened to fill when the {9-Spades} spiked on the turn. The insignificant {Q-Clubs} was put out on the river as Saul grabbed his things and exited the tournament floor.

Gags300000

Michael "Gags30" Gagliano opened to 6,500 from middle position, Daniel Alaei three-bet to 14,000 on the button, and Dmitry Gromov four-bet to 27,500 from the small blind. Gagliano shoved for 144,000, Alaei folded, and Gromov called.

Gagliano: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Gromov: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

The {q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop was fairly harmless, but the {6-Diamonds} on the turn gave Gromov the nut-flush draw. The {10-Clubs} on the river was a brick though, and Gagliano doubled to over 300,000 chips.

More For Moussa

The flop was {7-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Spades}, and when we reached the table Ariel Schneller had bet enough to put Bassel Moussa all in. Moussa tank-called.

Schneller: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Moussa: {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

The {6-Clubs} spiked on the turn, giving Moussa a straight, and all Schneller could do was hope for a nine to chop. The river was the {3-Spades} however, and Moussa doubled to over 200,000 chips.

Fair Game for ElkY

An under-the-gun player raised to 7,000 and was called by Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier in the cutoff. Ryan Fair then moved all in for 62,000 from the small blind, which inspired the original raiser to fold. However, Grospellier made the call to put Fair at risk.

Fair: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}
Grospellier: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

Grospellier was ahead and had Fair dominated. The {3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop was no help to Fair, and neither was the {4-Diamonds} turn. In order to stay alive, Fair needed to catch a jack on the river. The dealer burned and out out the {9-Diamonds}. It was a bittersweet end for Fair as he made his way to the door.

Laak Lures One In

Calling a raise preflop Phil Laak got to see a {7-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop where his opponent put out a bet of 12,500. After some quick contemplation Laak put the chips in and was allowed to see a turn.

With the {5-Hearts} rolling off the deck for fourth street Laak's opponent checked. It was here that Laak came out firing, and put a stack of chips in the middle worth 27,500. His opponent thought for a second or two before throwing his cards away.

Swimming with the Devilfish

It is a dangerous thing to go Swimming with the Devilfish, the namesake of Des Wilson's book on David Ulliott, but that is exactly what Matt Marafioti tried to do in a recent hand. One a flop of {5-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts}, Matt Marafioti bet 3,500, Thorsten Schafer folded from middle position, and Ulliott called from the button.

Marafioti then bet 6,000 on the {6-Clubs} turn, and again the Devilfish just called. When the {K-Hearts} appeared on the river, Marafioti slowed down with a check, Ulliott bet 22,000, and Marafioti instantly folded.

The Devilfish has been on quite the heater as of late, chipping up to over 350K.
