Sigua Survives by Cracking Aces

Livello 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

An under-the-gun player raised to 15,000 and the player in the cutoff called. Rellie Sigua, on the button, paused before putting in a three-bet to 52,000.

The blinds got out of the way and the player under the gun jammed. The cutoff folded and Sigua, who didn't appear to love the spot anymore, reluctantly made the call to put himself at risk.

Rellie Sigua: AQ
Under the Gun: AA

Once the cards were face up, Sigua saw the bad news. But that all changed when the flop came Q6Q.

The under-the-gun player was suddenly way behind with only one out to send Sigua home, but the 4 turn and 3 river offered no help and locked up the hand for Sigua, securing him a full double.
